The only con on a o4 is the rear end is harder to get to hook up. 1st gear is usless on the street on street tires. No easy resolve. but ohhh the fun with one of these machines!!!!!!!!!!!

Vert is heavier than a coupe. What exactly are you wanting to know? Pros and Cons vs. what?

Well I guess the only real problem is traction. I went from a 97 to a 03 and never looked back. The seating is better the seats feel as though they hgger you does take a little getting used to and I like the seating postion better. The ride is better. But here is a couple of the problems I have heard of and have not experienced and that is pinoin seal leak and the tick which if it has the tick you would it is very loud. www.svtperformance.com has a sound track just look up the tick. I know you will be satified in your purchase 03's and 04's are just awesome. GO FOR IT.

Thanks for the replies. I drove it last night. Very nice. But, with only 6000 miles on it, the car has a shake in the front end, a very loud clunk in the rear end, and the service engine light came on after it warmed up.

The wheel hop. Holy crap.

I think the dealer is still asking to much. 33K for a 3yr old car. He went down from 36K. Cars not not exactly running off the lot these days.

With that mileage, you probably wont get the dealer under $30k, but he should at least go down that low...the vibration is a common issue and the clunk is just the T-56. The vibe can be fixed and a new MGW shifter will quiet down the T-56 a little. As far as the service engine light, just have them check out the code and see what's up.

I'm pretty sure the clunking in the rear end is from Ford using the wrong size bolts on the IRS, pretty sure there is a TSB out there to replace two bolts. I know I took my 03 in for it and they replaced the bolts and the clunking went away. As far as the vibe goes, mines not that bad and once your up to speed you really can't feel it. The only issues I had with mine were the Clunking in the rear and the Stall which was fixed with a CPU reflash. As far as price goes, I think Torrey is right, $30k would be about right for a car with that many miles on it unless it's been abused. Have the dealer pull out the CPU and look for any tampering i.e. chip. If it's had an aftermarket chip in it the CPU will usually have electrical tape holding the chip in. Overall, you won't be disappointed!

I know my 97 has a clunk as well.....tough decision at this point...if I can get him to come down to 30K I might jump on it.

I did notice that the SC whine does drown out the exhaust. Car was a bit too quiet.
