what is a the best size to put on a 04 cobra with light mods

we have had excellent results from our ported stock TB and reworked PL... you will get very nice crisp throttle responce from the porting of the TB and the way we rework the PL gives up to 20 HP in the mid rpm band where you need the extra power..we have seen no idle,stalling or surging issues with the ported stock TB/PL

if you are looking for a single blade oval bore TB we recommend the Accufab..

pl stands for plenum (the elbow coming from the TB)...BBK offers a twin 65mm throttle body if you're looking for a twin setup...i'd recommend (like Linn said) just getting your stock TB and Plenum ported over that...ive got the single blade Accufab with matching plenum and it works great..good seat of the pants difference, but didnt see any extra rwhp on the dyno

what kind of results are you seeing with the BBK 65mm Torrie? way back in 2002 when we were modding the 03s that was the only choice for the 03 Cobras but we found many issues with idle,stalling surging etc...and generally didnt see good result..because of that and also the Accufab and Billetflow SB OB TBs that came out fairly soon after that we just never used the BBK 65MM...I have seen more people using them these days but have never paid much attention to the results since we do our own porting of the stock units...

5hp at most...but the same issues as far as idle and "stickiness"...my accufab doesnt stick like most others say, but who knows, I may have just gotten a good one

...i agree that porting the stock one is the best alternative and cheaper

thats what I thought..I know some people have used the BBK had ok luck with them and we dont hear about Accufabs having issues as much as the BF units did..we had to take back about half of all the BFs we sold because they had hanging idle issues that could not be fixed

That is good to know, was considering a Billet Flow. I will stick with what already works (stock throttle body). That BBK 65mm may be a possible choice but I had issues with BBK cold air kit for my 01 which has strongly biased me away from BBK.

I've never had experience with either brand as far as throttle bodies go, but the shop that I go to in WA, quit selling the BBK's because they were having so many issures with them. They had one that the linkage just broke on it after a week of installing it. So after that, plus the trouble with the headers they quit selling BBK all together. I just thought I would share that piece of info.

I have had the BBK twin 65 mm throttle body and the BBK Cold Air Intake on my 03 for over 2 years now and have not had any problems so far. I noticed a huge difference in the supercharger whine when I installed them.

I also have the bbk cai and throttle body. Definitely was sticking for a while. It was embarassing at first because I couldn't lightly press the gas to edge the car up a few feet. It was all or nothing. Eventually quit after 6 mos.

I noticed the whine on mine from the Fipk filter, and still have the stock throttle body, and still making 490/508, with a stock eaton
