what length belt do I need with a 2.81 uppper, billet flow 4pc idler, and 2pd lower.

I know I have a 2.76 upper 4Lb lower and Billetflow 4 piece Idler... My belt I use that is VERY tight I mean Holy crap tight is a NAPA 25-080797 which is 79.7 inches long......I got a spare you could try if you want

before spending $40 each

A 78 5/8 is the one I used with the same set-up Mike, that should take care of you........or you could just get the Riechard Racing Manual Tensioner and chose about any belt length and never worry about belt slip again.

Yeah 78 5/8" should be ok. Make sure that you put the lower idler on the upper position on the lower pulley bracket plate. I have the exact set up with a 77.4" belt. I had to put the lower idler on the lower bracket position to make mine fit. The advantage of the upper position is better belt wrap but will require a longer belt. Mine is very tight. Belt size selection is very aggravating.
