stock pads with slotted rotors?

just wondering if I can run a stock cobra brake pad with a slotted rotor? I have powerslot slotted and dimpled rotors and when I got them (new) I also got new hawk pads to.

but with the hawk pads I also got exsesive amounts of brake dust and they squeel ALL the time. I never had that with the stock pads, not to mention I didnt notice any change in stopping distance so the stock pad was better in my book.

try raybestos ceramic quiet stop pads ... very little dust, good stopping power, better than stock! You can get them at www.rockauto.com . I had stock, then Hawk, and now the raybestos ... much better!

Which Hawk pads did you get? I'm using Hawk ceramic pads on my 04 with slotted / drilled rotors and I get hardly any dust.. and they never make a sound. Have about 4K on them now.

I have D/S baer rotors with wagner pads for a few thousand miles, no noise, with no brake dust. We will see how long they last but that combo works for me

Right now I have noticed very little dust with the Raybestos Quiet Stop pads. I have them in front, installed them after CMP, so I have probably driven them about 2-3k on the pads, and have not had any problems. Now squeal or squeak, very little dust, and they stop great.

Just a thought, or two cents worth. I think that slotted, cross drilled or any rotor that does not have a smooth surface like the stock rotor has a left and right bias to them. I would double check to make sure the rotors are on the correct side. It probably is just the pads and nothing more.
