Slick '04 'Vert

Did the Zaino thing on my Redfire '04 Vert last weekend. Little bit of clay bar to get rid of water spots, then wash with Dawn, Z5 with ZFX, spray with Z6, Z5 again, spray with Z6 again, Z2 and spray with Grand Finale (forget the Z number of that one). When I finished, I tried to stick a Post-it to the car and it would not stick. Sticks fine to my wife's SUV but won't stick to the Cobra. Now that's slick.

i have to do the same thing to my 04 vert. how long did it take you to do. did you use a buffer or towels to take it off. any help or advice you can give me would be wonderful

for removing the polish, I use either a 100% white cotton AMERICAN made(not an American company using Pakistan for production) towel, or microfiber towels. I don't think a buffer is needed for removing Zaino's.

I only use a buffet for putting on. Never taking off. Pad gets too clogged.

yeah, thats what I was going to say. You would have to change the pad numerous times when removing polish.

I can't imagine how a pad would get clogged removing Zaino, unless you are applying way too much product. The total amount needed for 3 coats is 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz. max! You are probably applying too much polish if you use a buffer to apply it. The application should be so thin you can hardly see it on the finish.

Couple of tips: 1. Go over the car with Z6 BEFORE applying the first coat of polish. Makes the surface nice and slick helping spreadability.
2. Keep the applicator pad slightly damp all the time with Z6. Keeps the pad from absorbing the polish and aids in spreading.
3. Only put a dime size drop of polish at a time on the pad. Apply in large circles to get it on the finish, then straight line to get coverage.

Towels: The finest towels available are the ones from DF Towel. A third generation towel was recently released and they are superb. The fabric is spun as a micro fiber, but there are no synthetic materials anywhere. These will last you a very long time. I have them in stock.

the Zaino's website said something to the effect that you would have to change the PC pad often for removing. I'm just going by what I read. I do all mine by hand, so I don't have to worry about that.
