Vir
Anyone here have any experience at VIR? I am planning on picking up an 03-04 Cobra daily driver and and getting out of drag racing and wanted a little insight on road course stuff. What do I need in order to be able to go to an event? Can I just roll in and go? I looked on their site and couldnt find any info on pricng or 2008 schedule.
Thanks Dan |

![]() As a Newbie, I warn you, be prepared to embark on a new addiciton! ![]() ![]() Track officials tell me, for beginning, a well maintained car, great cooling, tires and suspension upkeep will do it for the early run classes. Having a car with much more than 400 hp is a bit much for a track newbie as well. ![]() ![]() |

What she said...so in a nutshell you need a good, non-leaking car and a helmet. For convertibles you will need a rollbar.
After that, all you will need is another track day!

For all track events you will need certain safety items and this can differ with the group that you are running with. If you have a convertible a true rollbar is required. You will also need a racing helmet for any car and each group requires how new the helmet must be. VIR is a wonderful course, especially the full course. I am running there in Feb with the Tarheel club and they require more items if you are doing time trials. Most of the prices are dictated by the clubs that are running the event. You need to find the event on the VIR calendar and then go to the clubs site to see about cost and requirements. motorsport.reg lists most of the events that you will be elgible for. As said earlier ... beware of a new addiction!

He took it to Junior's Garage and we installed some high tech suspension parts to help his driving. Yes, his driving needs help! So does mine, but that is another story. Both of our cars have the same hp & tq, but mine is an 03 vert. No problem keeping them between the lines, you just have to be careful where you hit the gas and have good brakes!
