CD player options-opinions wanted

I just bought an 01 Cobra convertable knowing the stock CD6 player didn't play CDs. I'd like to upgrade it but am very rusty of what types of stereos to use. I went to a local electronic website that sends free catalogs as well and entered the vehicle info. I'd like to get a double-din, but don't want any junk. I also don't want a $1500 unit.

If you run a double-din please post up and let me know what you have, why you like it, or any advice that you might have for me. I did have a double-din Eclipse in my other 01 Cobra, but that was 3 years ago. New model, new technology makes my knowledge obsolete. I can't remember if I have to rewire the rest of the stereo or buy an adapter to get the amps to work.

In the meantime, I'll check the classifieds and see if anyone has anything for sale. Then that one online website that does auctions.
