Tom Lewis finds a new Banana!!
Rumors have been running rampant about Tom Lewis since that fateful Sunday when the Banana slipped on it's own peel. What's next for the Banana? Is Tom going to get a new car or rebuild the Banana shake? Will the new Banana, in whatever form it takes, be as quick or possibly even quicker than the last iteration?
I've called Tom many evenings to pick his brain about such things as removing valve stems to reduce rotational mass on track wheels (who needs air pressure?)... cutting holes in the floor board in an effort to lighten the car and increase chassis stiffness (what??)... we've even thought about going to cross drilled rotors (bling bling)... Most nights, the phone just rings and rings... yet I'm quite certain Tom was at home. Field agents reported seeing a dim light in the garage burning into the wee hours of the night. Sounds of an air compressor could be heard above the hum of the woodland creatures. What WAS Tom up to?!?! Well look no further. Sources have confirmed that Tom has been MUCH busier than he lets on. Spy cameras have revealed... (drum roll)... The 2003 Banana: While I cannot condone Tom's utter lack of safety while testing (note: where is the nuclear SA-2000 helmet??), it is clear to see that the '03 Banana has some SERIOUS stopping power. This shot was taken just as Tom was entering the braking zone for Turn 32 (taking the inside line, passing under braking - note the look of surprise on the competition) at his top secret testing facility deep within the foothills of Colombia, SC. But you ask, "Does it have any power to speak of??" I'm sad to report that "yes" it does. Just after the above photo was taken, the '03 Banana rocketed through the uphill esses and mowed down our field agent. We were very lucky to recover the photos. So be wary, and be afraid... be very afraid... Closeup shot of the '03: |

That has got be the funniest thing I've ever seen on line!!! I think Bryan's been surfing over at Planet Mustang!!! Just wait until you see the bar-b-que / tractor pull pictures after this year. Guess where the banana's old wing is going...

That is the funniest thing I have seen in quite some time!!!!
Now the question is...is the red paint on the tires for looks--or to measure how much the sidewall is rolling over in the corners??????? |

I don't think this would be legal to run in any stock classes. Tom obviously has installed a short throw shifter, Griggs K-member and has illegal engine cooling modifications. Thankfully he does have the seat in the fully upright and locked position or he would be totally disqualified. P.S. I believe a black flag is in order as I saw no wave by on that pass. |

I do not believe there are wave by's in such a high tech racing class as one would be in with that kind or performance machine
