Hello All

First let me say that I'm really not all that impatient for an old fart. I guess when your waiting for your 03 Cobra to come in, you can get a little irritable. Nothing some geritol won't fix. Anyway, as a newbie, I was not familiar with this area as being the place to post. I was in the 03 Cobra area because that was the logical place for me to go. Anyway, I'm glad some of you good folks decided to respond to my post in there and here I am. Hopefully all you that traveled to the track came home safe and with cars in good operating order. Nothing can blow a weekend faster than a car breaking down. Especially during a competition.
As far as my 03 goes, I'm still waiting for the dealer to call me. Supposedly the car was built this week so he said we should get the shipping confirmation soon. For now I'm still driving the faithful 96 GT (with some mild mods). It's not a Space Shuttle, but it moves pretty good. Love the way that car sounds with those Flowmasters. Well, let me say thanks again to those of you that responded and I hope to continue communicating with you.

J.D.

Welcome again!! Hope you enjoy this club as much as I know all of us have! I was one of those going to another track event this week (I couldn't make Gingerman) BUT I lost my motor in a RAIN STORM! So she's sitting in a shop waiting to get a new engine!

Take care,
Big Daddy

Hi JD, Welcome.

I have heard some are starting to receive their 03's. Hopfully yours will arrive before you know it.

You'll find a great, fun loving group of people here. (just don't believe everything you hear.)

P.S. The 03 drivers say the 99's taste like chicken.

Hey, JD. As you can tell by my post number, I'm new here as well. But I've known some of these guys for a while now through track events with my husband. We are part of the group that went to Gingerman last weekend. We left the track Sunday evening, stopped in Indiana for about 6 hours of snooze time and was on the road again by 7 Monday morning. We didn't stop again until we pulled up in our drive way about 3:30 that afternoon. Welcome to the forum! You'll enjoy it here!!

Thanks Again

Just a short note to say thanks again folks for the nice welcome. Sorry to hear about that motor Big Daddy. Thats gotta hurt. I freak out when battery dies. I'd hate to think of the motor. I did have to replace the Auto. tranny in my GT though. It had a shift kit in there and was doing great. Then all of a sudden it starts slipping big time. The dealer told me it was the shift kit that caused the problem. It was a Transco kit and I called them. They said no way. Then I found out those transmissions are not real good to begin with. You start adding mods and bring up the HP and you could have problems. Well, $2400.00 later I had it running again. No shift kit though as they won't warranty it with the kit in there. Another wonderful lesson in life. Take care folks. Still waiting for the call !!

Question

Hi Folks,

First, B.D. how are you coming with the motor situation ? I hope since you have it down you take the opportunity to make it worth it all. Now would be the perfect time to build that killer motor (within budget). I know thats what I would do. I do feel for you though.
Also, I have a question. I will be showing this car from time to time at some shows within the MCA per their rules. I need to have some advice on a good car cover and find out what you folks use as wax to really make them shine. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Thanks '03 this is the second time I've been without my snake for a few weeks since April!
I'm waiting to see how much the insurance company is going to give me for the engine fix/replacement. BUT, I am going all forged internals, ported and polished heads, new cam, and shorty headers. If the insurance company ponys up more than half of the current cost I'm going to go with titanium valves also! The boost on my Vortech S-trim will be turned up to 14-15 lbs of boost and the chip will have a dip switch to chose between four programs. 1). Vallet - 2500 rpm limited! 2). Street - 6500 RPM limited 3). Track - 6800 RPM limited 4). Strip - 7200 RPM limited!! Max revs on the motor according to the folks who are building it is 7500 RPM!
