Question How do you solve it?

I Lost brake pedal pressure after my last lap at CMP when I pulled into the pit area and let the car sit. What do I need to do to avoid this from happening?

BTW, after the car cooled, the pedal pressure came back....

if your brakes got hot enough to fade like that, then you'd better replace the brake fluid too.

Tony,

The most likely culprit is/was brake fluid boiling. I would replace the fluid asap... and of course check the remaining components to ensure proper operation. Pads, rotors, etc...

I use DOT4 fluid in my car and even after repeated hard braking in corners for 20-30 minutes at a time, I get no brake fade and no mushy pedal. Of course I am also using some pretty agressive pads in front on the track - PF 97 compounds on two piece floating Brembo rotors.

Throwing the checked flag at T9 instead of start/finish is a great idea (the way grid was setup, I like it better). However, it doesn't give the brakes enough of a chance to cool adequately. Those 13" rotors act as large heat sinks and without moving air to dissipate the heat, they transfer heat to the calipers... which begin to boil fluid.

This happened to Jason too. He had plenty of pedal on track, came off and parked it. Then the pedal went completely away 2 minute later when he moved the car.

Bleeding the brakes will get rid of this problem.
