Thumbs up Nashville Superspeedway event this past weekend

I had the opportunity to run the Nashville Superspeedway infield course this past weekend. After all the talk about the transitions from the oval to the road course, it had me concerned, since I have some rub in the front from the car being lowered. It didn't become an issue, and I had an absolute blast. A short track, but very busy, with the ability to get good speed in the front and back straight. First opportunity to see how the diff cooler would do out back with no fans, and I was pleased. Temp got to 210 and stayed there with the pump running. Never hotter, never cooler. I think that works out just fine. The urethane IRS bushings combined with the Torsen diff are a definite necessity. I was very surprised how noticeable the difference was under heavy braking (no more rear end dancing) and accelerating through corners. Highly recommended.

A big plus for the weekend, Dean made it down and we had the opportunity to "mix it up" a bit for a session. Now I know why Dean, Brian, and Kevin have had so much fun running in the same group at Road America. It was a blast, and that one session made the whole weekend worth it for me.

All in all, I ran 8 sessions friday (you could only take passengers in the novice "no pass" group, but they allowed you to drop down and run that group with a passenger, in addition to your regular group. A possible 12 sessions per day.) and 6 or 7 Friday. Dean had a bit of trouble, we left early both days. Awesome event overall, you guys ought to come up for the next one. Unreal the amount of track time for 130 a day.

While I didn't get any pics, there were a few people out there taking some shots. This from a Corner Worker in turn 10, the out of what I called the "chicane" all weekend. The black car just behind Dean is me, what a fun session. Kevin knows this corner well......hehehe.

Steve

John, the next one that I know of that the Music City Mustang Club (of whom I'm not affiliated) is doing is I think March, and Memorial Day weekend next year. Rumor also has it that NASA AI may just show up there next year. There's so many events I'd like to make this year, but I'm trying to expand business, very time consuming, and it looks like Road America is it for me this year. Road America is simply a "no-miss". Period. Maybe the next CMP NASA event, and that's a huge maybe.

Dean was toasting clutch cables on his LT's. Freaky, but pretty much kept him out of things most of the weekend. I will say this tho, the car is NASTY! Everyone loved it, and stopped by to check it out.

HAZ--not sure on a schedule. As you know, Tn isn't really big on open track, just cone-dodging and street racing. Hopefully, word will get around about this track, and things will pick up here. It really is a fun track.

Maybe a SCMC event in the future?

Another pic in the same corner of me, behind this very slow porsche. I'm way off line, trying to get in his side mirror so maybe he'll point me by that next time around.

There were some CRMC members out there, instructing. The lead instructor (I believe) has posted on the board about a school that they do at CMP, but I can't remember his name to save my life.

Dean's car is awesome! Dean isn't a bad driver either. A lot of people took note at Beaver Run. Dean is the man in the Mid West AI.

After Dean being kind enough to slow down and let me keep up with him, running that front straight bumper to bumper, I can definitely see the appeal.

If Tom still has his car for sale after we get Michelle a new vehicle, it may have a new home....... At least for Dedicated track, I don't think I have the cajoles to run door to door. LOL!

If you race with Dean you don't go D to D, he just goes by real fast. You would love the rush Steve.
