Talking Mid-Atlantic Local Meet!

Hello to all the Mid-Atlantic SCMC Folk

We have our own Forum to talk about events, cruises, etc... So, with that in mind let's get together to meet those in the area! Let's talk about what we can do in the area in 2005! I would like to see if we can grow the SCMC in the Mid-Atlantic Area. That way we can talk about events we had or will have instead of hearing about all the fun others are having around the country. Don't get me wrong..it's great to hear about all the others..but, let's join them in having events to discuss and pictures to show. Please let's get this forum going with cruise in's, shows that we could do or have our own or a BRP cruise or whatever you have thoughts about.

I would like to get something together this year to present an award for best in show. This was to happen at the CVMC event in Richmond but, due to hurricanes and then conflicting schedules we could not be at the event. So, hit me with your idea's. Maybe we meet some where and do a mini show..and then dinner? Ideas..let's start'em!

Sounds like a great idea. Sometimes I get jealous that other parts of the US have more events than this area so lets make something happen.

BTW: I read on another mustang forum (NVMC) that the Saleen Club of America is having a cruise in southern MD on November 6th and other mustangs are welcome, but we can also start our own annual cruise too!

Me too. So, let's make the Mid-Atlantic the place to be!

I saw that too....also...which it's not posted....the SVTOA is having a Catoctin Mountain Cruise Sunday Oct 24th starting in Frederick, MD...if you are interested.

Next year though..we are going to do an SCMC cruise...and other stuff too!! Count on it!

Cool. I haven't decided if I want to join them on the cruise next month. I might be going to Ocean City to visit the in-laws that weekend.

Hey y'all,

The first step is devising a plan for an event. (Do your homework)

The second step is advertising your plan/event.

The third step is following the plan and making it happen.

The fourth step is to have fun and be safe when you do the event.

I still say we need to do a BRP meet between the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic!

Mid-Atlantic event

Looks like my move is going to be delayed for awhile. So, I'm up for doing something. A cruise down skyline drive would be cool with the leaves changing. We should be able to put something small together before the snow gets here. Or are you just working on big long term projects?

What's a BRP?

BTW- Anyone going to be at Summit Point next weekend or Nov 6-7 for the NASA events? I'm planning to drive up to watch/hang out on Oct 24 and planning to do the driving school Nov 6-7 if I can get a clutch installed in time.

Okay to the 2 new members..who are you? Say Hello here...and lets get a meet together. Jimmy has a good idea..let's get a group together to go up skyline drive. I am not real familiar with that area but, I think others are...and then we can do a nice big one next year spring 05 and maybe fall 05. Make it annual thing??

Jimmy...glad to hear your move was delayed! I know it's eventually gonna happen but, glad to have you here for a little longer. It would be nice to do skyline drive cruise this year..so, you can be apart of it.

I am in for the NASA event Nov 6/7!!!

How are you? Good to see you on the forums. I probably will not be at the Saleen Cruise as it is the same weekend as NASA..so, I think I am headed up with Jimmy to see that stuff. Looks like that will be interesting.

There is a cruise through Catoctin in Frederick County, MD. next Sunday. If you are interested I can post the information here.

Let me know!

I'm also thinking about the Saleen cruise because it's closer to my house. I might be going out of town on the 24th so I most likely won't be able to make it to the Frederick cruise. SOOOOO, if anyone is interested in going on the Saleen cruise, let's get it together.

Oh, where is Summit Point and what is the NASA events? I know someone has told me where it is but my memory is failing me again.

The Saleen Cruise sounds good but, I may get a ride along at the NASA event..which would really be COOL!!

Summit Point is a track in WV if I am not mistaken. They have 3 tracks there I believe. Not real sure what NASA involves but, it is racing I think...I will post the link here for all to see.

NASA Link about the event... http://www.nasaracing.net/

Summit Point Link.... http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

Mike's right. NASA is a road racing organization (like SCCA) that does events all over the country. IT's a BLAST!!!
The VA region is hosting events at Summit Point, WV (about an hour from the beltway off Rt 7) on Oct 23-24 and Nov 6-7.
The highlights are the American Iron races (one each day) with Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, etc. (www.americaniron-east.com) AND...
you can sign up for the driving school and take your own Cobra out on track and learn to drive your car safely at its limits.

If you have questions or concerns about getting on a "real race track" with your pride and joy, email me and I'll be happy to answer any questions.
It's not as dangerous as you think.
It's 100 times more fun than you can imagine
AND it's truly SAFER than driving in the DC metro area! I'm NOT kidding!
If you think hitting the drag strip for 13 seconds or so is a rush, imagine that same rush for 20 or 30 minutes at a time!!!
