Hello Everyone,
New member here. I just purxhased a 04' Screaming Yellow Mustang Cobra Coupe. I am a Grandfather of 3. My first high performance car was a 1963 Impala SS 409 425HP in 1963. I have had many over the years, last one was a Pontiac TransAm WS-6 in 2001. Needless to say my reaction times are slow, so I try to be a little more careful than I used to. I have a few questions for you more experienced Cobra owners. I am contemplating a stripe kit? Also thinking about Flow Masters and Hurst Shifter any thoughts?? I plan to go to Daytona Beach for the Turkey Run Thanksgiving weekend I will report back with fuel consumption report. The Heavier the Foot The Less the Mileage.
GOD Bless All,
Papa Cobra

Papa, you're not the only grandfather in the club. I have two g'children, and I drive a 99 Cobra convertible. I'm not the fastest driver around, by my car does all right for itself.

Welcome to the club, it's a grand experience.

welcome to SCMC forums. Lots of good folks here.

What kind of stripe kit were you looking into?

Flow, although not the highest performing, sound real nice.

Are you wanting the Hurst style shifter? MGW makes a real nice aftermarket short throw piece.

I think stripes give a car a "MEAN" look. And i really enjoy them, they make the car stand out more too. Here are some shots of my 99 with (2) 9" white stripes.

Welcome aboard!
For the aftermarket questions, it all depends on taste and preference!
I'd have to agree with Firme on the aftermarket shifter though, MGW is definitely the way to go!
Hope to see ya at some of the events
