HI ALL!!! New member on the forums!
Hi everyone!! I recently bought a black 03 Cobra convertible with around 17000 miles, used to own a 99GT convertible 5spd all NA in the past but when I hit high mileage I had to let the car go. Ive been in the import tuning scene as well and have my share of experience but this car is a completely different beast I have on my hands, hehe, so I will definetely need some help from you guys! Currently I also own a 03 Accord V6 6spd with a few mods on it but since I drive a lot the Cobra will be used less since its a way nicer car which I want to keep for a LONG time!!
![]() Btw I live in BC., Canada and hopefully I meet some members here from Canada as well, so far Ive read the forums and you guys are great and helpfull and none of the bs you usually see on other forums. Once again HELLO!! ![]() |

Welcome to the SCMC Tman!, Keep the ricer, you will need it for the bad weather since the Cobra is not keen on ice or snow.

Don't let the dog drive
|
For those of you who are foolish to venture out in the snow with a Cobra (like myself for instance), I would recommend to get the low profile high performance snow tire. Summer tires may work great and have super traction but that is only when the road surface temperatures are above 40 degrees F (4.5 degrees C). Goodyear Eagle F1's (stock) are summer tires only. Getting on a snow covered road (even a dusting) would be a disaster. IF you opt for custom wheels, keep your old factory wheels for the snow tires. If you have an alternate vehicle which is better yet. I have yet to attempt to drive the 04 Cobra in the snow, and I do not plan on it. I have driven my 01 in the snow and there was a definate difference between All season tires to dedicated snow tires. Just an FYI, nothing more, don't risk crashing your pony with summer tires on it in the snow. You will not go anywhere, and if you are on a hill the car will slide out of control even if the wheels are not rotating. Not to mention all that road salt which will corrode your car by spring time. As for the 03/04 Cobras, there is far more torque created at 2000 RPM than a 99/01 makes in peak, so my guess is that you are better off not driving it in the snow.
