tire sizes

so, I'm looking at some 18' wheels (either 8.5 or 9") Most of the tire places indicate either a 245/40-18 or a 275/35-18..

I'm currently running stock 99 rims (17x8) with 255/45-17's and I'm thinking that the 245/40's might not be enough.

Thoughts?

Nitto has a 285/35 18 but you need at least a 9.5" rim or a 305/35 18 need at least a 10" rim. of these tires are designed for Road Courses. NT555/RII's

If you need to calculate what tire you'll need when getting a wider rim or bigger rim, this link can help you out! It's in the "How-To" section on the front page of the website! Hope this helps!
