I would swap out the exhaust first because the intake and exhaust will more than likely NOT void your warranty. Then, if you fancy a little more, go with a chip and pulley swap...those 4 upgrades will get you 450-470rwhp...then there's a ton more after that...most cat-backs will run you around $500 unless you like the Bassani, which I have and love, they'll run about $750

For starters go for the exhaust! Replacing the exhaust system alone on these 03/04 Cobra's can get you 25+hp, plus when you get the Headers even more!!
Next a 2.80 pulley and custom tune if you can afford it!

Good luck with your power cravings!

Thanks. I am looking at the exhaust rout. I want a DEEEEEP rumble. I have seen the video on here with the black cobra. I believe the "H" pipe gave the Deep sound.

For exhaust are you guys talking Cat backs and an H or X pipe??? And do the cats stay on with the H or X pipe??? Vegas is tough on emissions.

Also what programmer or custom tune is the best I.Y.O. One more thing, are after market shifters that much smoother?

Thanks in advance

you have an option for CATS with the H or X pipe...if you cannot get passed (ie a buddy who does inspections)then you'll wanna get the one's with CATS...the H pipe will give you a more throaty sound also...ive got the MGW shifter and its nicer than the stock one

I found this on E Bay( item #7944922008) for $339 free shipping. Brand new

Fits all 1999-2004 4.6L Mustangs with stock or after market short tube headers!!! High quality pipe is HTS coated, Dura Black coated and includes all hardware.

Would I need a catback system also with this. And does the prochamber take place of the mufflers???? If not what mufflers should I run.

Thanks for the help I am converted Chevy old school headers, 3" exhaust, crossover pipe, suppertrap guy.

A Prochamber is a cross between a X and a H. Go with the just the H for the best sound (IMO). I just ordered mine from www.myfordperformace. Talk to Ray Dixon, he got me a MAC H-pipe with Hi-flows cats for $345 delivered to my door!!! No, it does not take the place of the mufflers, I would advise getting a catback as well. I am partial to Bassani but many other systems sound good too. Good luck.

I have a bassani catless x-pipe and catback, and get a lot of compliments on the sound. It is fairly deep at low RPMS, and at higher RPMS, sounds like a supercar. I am very happy with it. I ran with cats on the pipe too, but I prefer the sound without them.

However, I do not like the increase in exhaust fumes. I may put high flow cats back on soon.

The magic formula for bang for buck is pulley, tune, CAI and full exhaust. I have heard that headers may not be worth the trouble. A Mezierre water pump may pick you up 15 20 hp too. Not tried that yet, but I think I will this Summer.

I just orderd my full exhaust. I went with the SLP X pipe with hi-flo cats(I need to pass emisions) and the Loudmouth catback. The Cat back and X pipe are thier new line of modular cat-back exhaust systems. I went with the loudmouth II mufflers. They say, "similar to original Loud Mouth, but with
a throatier tone and reduced resonance". I guess I will find out. This is going tobe the longet 7-10 days i ahve had in a long time.

Pulley and a custome tune is next.

Even though you have the Hi-flow cats on it, you will need to have your tuner turn off your back 2 o2 sensors to keep the check engine light from coming on! Since you are getting a pulley and tune, you can just wait until then. I got my headers, catted x, and bassani catback put on and my check engine light is on, but I'm getting the o2 sensors turned off when I get my pulleys and other goodies put on in the next couple weeks!

It'll be ok to drive your car without the sensors turned off, it'll run a little rich, but that's ok! It's just a suggestion to wait for the tuner other than getting the MIL's and wasting money!
