Quick question on Camaro SS's...

Thought I was going to have some fun last Friday nite but to no avail the Chevy wouldn't put his money where his mouth is. I had a SS pull up behind me and tail me going to town, well I hit 2nd and left him pretty far behind. At the next light the guy wouldn't even hit it at all. Much less even roll down his window. I'm sure he didn't appreciate me going by at 1st and giving him an earful of Magnaflo's....

What do the SS's have in them to make it special? Horsepower rating? I thought those cars were suppose to be bad but apparently he thought again and "FearTheSnake"

Actually the Z-28 would be the top contender not the SS...

Okay I found a Motor Trend review on the net.

The Z28 was rated at 305 hp

The SS was rated at 320 hp @5200 rpm and 345 lb/ft of torque @ 4400 rpm.

And ouch, the 1-4 skip shift big brother is watching 6 speed manual. Glad Ford never tried that mess.

??? Ford qualifies for the 1-4 skip shift, that saved me alot of money in gas guzzler tax (which I had none, althouth the first 03's did).

The only thing special about the SS breed was it marked the end of the poney car for GM in the chevey brand. I guess the pontiac GTO is its replacement since GM dropped the camaro and firebird for the time being. Too many people were buying mustangs for GM to continue making the Camaro. Besides that, there is more profit margin in the Corvette (acording to a friend who is a chevy dealer).
