Looks like the 05 is taking on some Shelby traits

I just noticed dual hood scoops on the hood of some of the new V6 '05 mustangs on the lot of the local Ford lot. Either it is an aftermarket mod put on by the dealership or it is from the factory. Looks like the 05 design will improve with age.

Were these fake scoops? Were they raised above the hood, or recessed like the 03/04 Cobra vents? I am very curious!

I wonder if the new Mustang is improving with age. I hope Ford doesn't resort the same all-show-and-no-go styling the used to.

The scoop is simple cosmetics. The 450 CONSERVATIVE HP isnt. Compare, or do the math. Look at a hot chevelle in 1970. Need I say more? Again, this is a 281C.i Block. Thanks Edsel ... w00p

Gawd its rough aging.

They were sticking out of the hood, not recessed. More than likely cosmetic than functional since it was the V6. It looked like after market too since I did not see any at the other ford dealer that I pass on my way to work. It is rare to see any of the GT's out on the lot unless it is being prepped for delivery to a new owner.
