'99 and up cars with the returnless fuel system can't/don't use FMU's to simulate larger injectors so they have to actually use larger injectors.
ahhhh..this explains why kenne bell has taken its time getting the 99-01 kit out...

by chance does anybody know what size injecters are in the 03????

I have yet to see it mentioned in any of the articles i have read.

once again thanks for your info..

the reason why i asked that question is that Im tempted to do what alot of you on here already have done, and thats to supercharge the stock block with the vortech....but the more ive read and talked to people, the more i think i should just go for it and have the block built from the ground up to be supercharged..meaning lower the compression maybe port the heads for improved flow..and maybe look into a new cam forged pistons..u know...the works....just for the sake of reliablity from step one (even though i know many people who have put thousand of miles on their supercharged cobras with absolutely no probs)

lets be honest here..if you were to do it all over again..what would you do different from the beginning...is there anything???

Actually.... I'd do everything the same. Get a "safe tune" on the stock internals. I'd drive it as long as i possibly could while saving money for the built short block. If the engine lets go....... then get it fixed. For me...... it's easier to pay for my dream car than it is to throw money into it. What i mean by that is: I didn't put much money down on my car even though i could have. I took all that money i saved, and supercharged it etc etc. I'm living with the higher payment, but it's what i want. I'd give my car up in a heartbeat though for a 2000 R. But I just can't afford one.

I would do just what I've done if I had to do it all over again! I figure I will eventually have to go to a new block and internals but I'm saving up for that day! Right now I'm enjoying the hell out of what I have!!! AND SMASHED look again!! I'm no longer SNAKELESS!

I agree. Perfect should not be the enemy of the good. The stock engine is pretty durable, and prevention beyond a reasonable point just doesn't make sense. You might look at it this way, compare the probability of needing a rebuild Xs the cost of a rebuild against the cost of taking all precaution against it.

I know right!! I'm more than happy for ya BigDaddy. Someday, i won't be snakeless. Enjoy your car enough for the both of us. Actually. I've got a good friend here with a white 98 cobra. It's super clean and he added Eibach PRO KIT and AFS chrome R's on it. The backs are 17x10.5's and he's got 315/35's on it. It's beautiful and he let me drive it the other day. So i was snakless for about a half hour.

im sure this question has been asked a million times, but im asking everybody i know who has different superchargers the same thing..

How is your MPG with your superchargers..can you give me an estimate of about what you are running around town and the highway in your Cobras???

Im my quest to build the perfect car that will be good at everything..its just one of those questions that has to be asked.

Thanks!!

A supercharger will not affect your gas mileage at all unless you are always going into boost.

I averaged 24mpg on a trip to Maryland from South Carolina running 85-90mph all the way there (with many romps into boost). That was with 4.10 gears, and a Vortech supplied 425rwhp and 362rwtq.

For a nice big-block feel, a KB blower is definitely the way to go...and for a street only car it will be pretty nice.

For a strip/track car a centrifugal will definitely rule. The Cobra KB kit will max out at about 12+ psi and the Cobra Vortech will max out around 18+ psi. The KB will never make the horsepower the vortech's (or ATI or Paxtons) because the twin screw design limits the amount of air it can flow.

With all the bolt ons and a very good tune a KB can make about 450-470 rwhp. It's torque curve will be very nice though. This is with longtubes, MAF, smaller pulley, offroad X/H pipe, etc....

A vortech with a powerpipe and exhaust can make 460rwhp easily....or a vortech with a smaller pulley, or a vortech with aftercooler, or a vortech with upgraded impeller.........

It's a personal choice and you have to go with what you want.....big block low-end torque or high-rpm high-horsepower pull.
