So is it the bottom of the shock that is going to limit more wheel width on the inside? Because I can't see how the shock is going to limit it. It looks like there's plenty of room in this picture.
It also looks like, and it's hard to tell in any of the pictures I've seen, that the bottom of the shock may be inside the wheel rim. If that's the case, then a wider wheel should be okay. ??? ![]()

I must say I'm a little disappointed. I mean I thought this new platform would be a better performance starting point, yet a stick axle???

The GT I think has to be stick axle due to the fact that alot of the Mustang usebase is only concerned with 1320 performace thus wanting the live axle. But Looking at the pumkin.. its looks like its the opposite of the SN95 in that they shoe horned a live axle into a IRS design.

well, your both probably right.... I was hoping Ford would offer IRS as an option in the GT and standard in the Cobra.... this way the bugs would be worked out by 06

Tom, Pearson called me last night and begged me to be nice to you and tell you why you can't put a wider tire on the car. After careful deliberation I have decided that I was not mean in any manner so I will not reveal any secrets. You will have to wait until you see the car up in the air and then it will become painfully obvious why my comments were made. Of course you can figure it out quicker if you carefully analyze the pictures that are currently out on the internet.......
It took Pearson a full year and a half to get me to answer one of his questions but I finally did last night. If you can't figure it out in about a year come back and ask me, i'll tell you anything you want to know. Pearson, how is that little project going? I want all the info you find out. bt |
