No issues here running GS-D3 315/35/17 on AFS 17x10.5" wheels, tried the Yoko AVS Sports and BFG KDs which are wider without problems also.

what tires do you guys prefer for 18 inch wheels (10.5 rear and 9.5 front)?
I don't think Nitto makes an 18 inch 315 size tire. i want 315 on the back, what do you recommend for the actual tire brand and model for front and also for the rear ? Remember these are 18 inch wheels.

Interesting..as I have found several people who put 315 on an 04 Cobra..and just shaved the IRS Bolt..and/or added spacers. To date..none have an issue..some for months others for over a year. Guess when I get to that point..I have alot of thinking to do.

I just replaced my rear two rims with a set of 17 x 10.5! Fords putting them on for me (Cousin works there) and he said that they'll fit, and if he needs to he'll do what he needs to, to make them work! But he says it shouldn't be a problem! He's also installing all my suspension mods I've got and some bushings from Steeda.
Tire size I'm running is 315/35 - 17's of course!

Ok, he's going to start on the suspension now, and I'm waiting on my bushings from Steeda that are supposed to be here on Thurs.! So, I should have everything installed and have the car back Thursday afternoon or Friday morning! I'll take some pics and post them in this tread!

The only way you would have issues with wider wheels is that the inner offset is not correct. I had a set of 18 BBS RK Plasma's with the 10 inch rear on my 01. I had them transfered to my 04 when I bought it. No issues with suspension or body hitting wheel. They did not require any spacers either. As for tire with in the rear they are 275/35's/18. I may replace them with either same profile or larger since there is plenty of room left. The big question was, will the stock 01 wheels fit? Yep, they fit. (have snow tires on them). I found that putting high performance snow tires on the car once the temps fall below 40 you have better traction when compared to summer tires since they get hard when it is cold out. Besides that, you never know when you will come across ice on the road surface and summer tires and ice do not mix well. When the salt hits the streets, the cobra stays home.

Yes, of course. But if you can't tuck them into the wheelwells, not only does it look uglier than a speckled puppy, then you start tossing debris all over the car. If I had offset the 10.5" rim it would have hung out of the wheelwell. I really came close to piddling with an 18", just for one reason or another I didn't.

Here are the pics of my 315's and 10.5 wheels! I put some .25" spacers on it just to be sure, but my cousin believes I should be able to take the spacers out and it'll be just fine. I'll wait in see on that though!

The third photo shows the IRS bolt that everyone either grinds down or replaces with a low-profile bolt. I got the Steeda bushing kit, which included a low-profile bolt and increase use of the wider tires!

Taking a curve over 120mph?! I'll leave that kind of speed for the straight shots!
