I will vouch for Carbotech

I ran their pads all last year - they are definitely a better quality pad.

http://www.carbotecheng.com/main.htm

CMP will eat brakes, I wasted a set of new rear pads there last August - in one 18 lap race!!!!

Also, you might want to consider venting air to your front brakes somehow, that makes a world of difference when it comes to fade...

my $.02

Hey Greg!!!! I have a set of Panther Plus pads for track use. They will destroy rotors, but I don't think any more than any other track pad. They will stop 100% better than stock pads when they are warmed up. Very expensive, but worth it IMO.

Will be fun to have 2 white "01's" on the track at CMP, of course, I'll have the "Baby White Lightning"

Gonna be a blast. *Btw Greg and anyone that needs a place to stay is welcome to stay at our house, since we're only 20 minutes from CMP. We have 2 extra bedrooms. Cheaper than Jameson Inn, and the food and beer is much better. (Nudges Greg

You don't need BIG brakes at CMP...and just to prove it, I'm thinking about bringing the 93 down with the stock brakes on it...rear drums and all!!

TRUE!

I ran for years on stock brakes at CMP...

But big brakes change the brake point for T1 from marker #5 to #1 1/2 ....

That's a hell of an offer there Craig!! But I don't think your lovely wife wants a bunch of us track junkies hanging around the house! I could however be talked into bringing some steaks over for grillin' and beer!

On the subject of brakes I have cryo treated Brembo rotors and I don't think anything will eat them! I haven't been able to wear them down at all after two sets of Hawk pads! I'm going to have them turned the new Carbotech pads and high temp fluid put in before the drag day just so I don't have to worry about it!

I am going to make every effort to attend this event regardless of price. It will be my first open track event. Are outsiders welcome at this too, there are several locals that I am pretty sure I can get to ride down with me, only thing none of them have cobras, 1 02 GT, and 2 late model Camaros SSs.

Now you know my wife is cool with it. But if you won't stay, let's all plan on getting together here on Saturday night. We'll grill out, drink a few, and do some hot tubbin again(aka.big guy water displacement). I'd like to get Don, Jason, and Pearson over too. I think most people are staying at the Jameson Inn(5 minutes from our house).

Looking forward to the weekend, sounds like everyone is gonna be there. Will be a "rookie revival" from last years Carolina Mustang event. Again, if anyone wants a place to stay over the weekend, you're free to stay with us.

Craig

Craig,

I was going to ask you to check on Ryans for us for a get together because we would hate to put you out. I know they have a private room we could use but we'll do whatever the majority wants to do.

Thanks,

Tony, anything would be fine with me. We can eat there, then everyone can come back here for a drink or two and some relaxation. Actually, I probably won't feel much like cooking after the long day, so your idea might be better. I can talk to Ryans if that's what everyone wants to do, but there is a better place called Jomars on Hwy9 also(2 back up HWY 9 from Ryans). It's buffet style, and should suit most. They have a private dining room also. I'll help out any way I can.

Craig

***BTW, you guys have fun at the meeting tommorow. I've gotta be at work at 8AM, so don't forget to mention another possible "Dyno day" in Columbia like we did last year at ATS. I had a lot of fun at that comparing mods, meeting people, etc. I'll be glad to organize that if there is enough interest.

Drinks and relaxing at the tub sounds killer to me!! Ryans or Jomars or wherever will be fine with me. I think we'll have a good time just being together!

Yessir, I think this will be the best event yet. I'm really excited about this one. Really great people out there. Don, Jason, and myself had a blast last year. Will be nice to have "Big Daddy" out there lapping all of us. There is nothing like a fleet of stangs on the track to wake up everyone in the countryside. I'm really looking forward to it. My wife is about to slap me because I've been talking about it so much. HAHAH

Talking

Craig,

If you have ATS' phone number, give them a call and see what dates theyhave available and we'll gauge the interest with the rest of the club. We'll probably have to go to other bb's to fill it up but I don't see it as a problem. Let me know what you find out and we can put it out in the weekly message.

I'm sure I can muster up a couple of people to jin in with us. Just give me a yell when you are ready. Also, Ryan's, Jomar's, it doesn't matter to me. If you make the arrangements then I'll be a happy camper. We had fun doing hot laps Thursday.
