Cobrabitn:
Hi,
I am representing the car club from Emory University. We are students interested in this track day - How many spots are left in the Entry level run group and how many are left in the Intermediate run group? We have two of us with experience at CMP w/ PCA and the rest with none or very little track experience, there are a total of maybe 4-6. We drive a variety of cars from Nissans to BMWs (one of ours had a scary fast SVT, but he has graduated last year). Thanks in advance, Yuda |

I had a friend that graduated from Emory down there in GA. There's plenty of room so just fill out your forms and mail them in with your check or you can go on line at the store and pay. www.scmcstore.com

I just ordered my "823" magnet this morning. Doubt everybody's after that number anyway. ;-) BTW, it's my anniversary, this year is number 10 and I need every reminder I can get or I'm a dead man.
On topic, REALLY looking forward to this, thanks for organizing it! |

It's a very fun event that is not overbooked with cars and you get plenty of track time over the weekend. You'll enjoy it!
Congrats on the tenth Anniversary...I've got twenty under my belt!

Is there any chance of getting bumped up to group B once we are at the event. I will be on R-compunds this year and would like to have a chance to push the car. I am a little worried that I will be running down my group and that gets annoying for all drivers. Last year on street tires I was turning lap times with group 3 which has now been named group B. I will run which ever group you put me in I don't really care. Just thought it might be better to save some headache. I just want some seat time. I can't wait till March!!!
With the addition of XP12's and brake ducts I shouldn't have brake probs this year!!!! If anyone is looking for a set of rotors. Check out RockAuto.com 4 rotors shipped for $108. Can't beat that!! |

Eric,
You only show doing 2 road course events on your registration form. You'll be mixed in with others that have done numerous events and some just a few like yourself. Let's see how it goes and if we need to move you up, we can some time during the course of the weekend. There is no substitution for seat time!

Well... its been a while but I'm jumping back into the SCMC starting at CMP. I haven't been doing much for a while because of school/starting a new career/ buying a house/getting married in May. Dang! Its been a busy year!
I have a couple of questions about CMP... I have only done one track event and that was in 2000 so I'm going to say I'm completelly new to this. Where is a good place to get harnesses and which type should I get? My car is slightly modified but will have significant suspension upgrades and a power adder within a year. Do I "need" harnesses or can I wait. Today, I put on new rotors, pads, rearend lube change, and an oil change and I'm doing the tranny fluid tomorrow so I'm almost ready. I'm bringing the Cobra but I wish I could talk my fiancee into letting me use the Cooper S at the track. Anyway, I guess I just had to ask about the harnesses. Really looking forward to the event! You mean your fiancee won't let you take her MINI and track it? I just don't know what to say. MINI's love tracks.
Seriously, while harnesses are a great thing to have, I think you'll be fine with your standard belts. The instructor is the one that really needs them anyway, they don't have a steering wheel to hang on to. |

Tony,
I'm planning on attending Saturday only and this will be my first time ever on a road course! The Cobra is getting all kinds of work done to be track ready and should get her back in about 1 week.....knock on wood. Also, the registration form and payment will be sent to you tomorrow. I can't wait....I know it's going to be a blast! See y'all there!

She wants to run the mini herself but she has a bridle shower that weekend. She wants to do the next track event... I told her she needs to get her priorities straight!
PS. I think the Mini will be a BLAST on the track!

Shawn,
Yes you can sign up for one day and if you want to do two, you can do that too. The cancellation policy is your fee gets applied to a future club event. Four run sessions per day, 30 minutes each session or there abouts. Basically, two hours per day for each participant. Mike, Good to see you coming out...I haven't forgotten about the touch up paint either. Just a lot of irons in the fire right now.
