Tim,
I guess pads are like everything else, ya gets whatcha pays for. I was running stock pads and rotors and except for some discoloration of the rotors all seems OK. Pads were almost like new befor the event. I'm ancious to pull the wheels and see what's left of them. Thanks to the SVT Cobra club for a great event. The rain on Saturday did little to dampen the fun. Then came Sunday, WOW! Hope to meet up with you guys again sometime soon. Maybe see some of you in Charlotte at the Autofair in a couple weeks. Pat

Pat, was great seeing you again also. Thanks for taking that friend of mine for a ride. I think I'm gonna do CMP again in 2 weeks with CRMC, maybe you could persuade your wife to let you come out again and play?

Nice meeting you pat!
Well, I am normally a very skeptical guy, I think a lot of products are sold on marketing, but I did make a mistake, when you are going to push a car to the limit on a track like cmp, you need the best. I ran stock pads at roebling, and did'nt hardly wear them at all, but that's what this is all about, a learning experience. tim

Yeah, they were worth it in stopping power, but I don't think they last long, and they destroy rotors from what I hear. I haven't had a minute to pull the wheels off yet to check. 100% better than my stock pads for sure.

You guys might also want to check out cobaltfriction.com
I used a Cobalt race pad (IT-R Spec B) on my stock 11" rotor single piston caliper front brakes this past weekend and never experienced fade. The brakes just simply stopped the car like it had Cobra brakes...well...maybe not that well, but you get the idea. I paid $119 for the front pads and there's plenty of pad left after CMP. They make a range of pads for just about any application...and they are the new AI series sponser!! Ok, if that's not a plug, I don't know what is!!

Kim Beers (white '01 Lightning) asked me to pass this along to the list:
"I wanted to post a thank you on the SCMC web site but since I am not registered I can not, so if you could tell them what a great job they did and all the fun I had I would be greatful. Thanks Rich and Tony and John and Jeff and all the other people of SCMC that put on one great event. My wife even had a good time Saturday inspite of the bad weather."

Tim, great videos. Try backing the zoom up a little. You can see more of the action. http://www.planetmustang.com/Movies/ailoweslap1.WMV This is a video of Bryan Shugg at LMS last year. Looking out the winshield looks killer.

I am still experimenting, I just got the camera mount a few days before the event. With less zoom, you get an annoying view of the rear view mirror, but I am going to try to back it off. Still need to fool around with the location.
