Here's an even better plug for Sam's club, give SCMC members a free membership and we'd all probably buy more products from there.

You would have to spend less then $40.00 for gas for this cruise, but isn't riding through the SC/NC mountains in the Fall with the top down worth it?

Actually gas in SC is MUCH cheaper than here in Asheville, NC. We officially have the highest gas prices in the state of NC! I guess the locals are trying to gouge the tourists but it's killing the other locals as well. REGULAR GAS LAST WEEK HIT $2.45 a gallon! Oh well if you're gonna play, you gotta pay!

I paid $2.77 yesterday for 93 octane in Raleigh. Newspaper article today says gas is up 63 cents a gallon over a year ago. It's still worth the sacrifice for me to drive these cars.

$35 a year is what a membership runs. Milk is the cheapest in town, so if you just bought milk at Sam's all year, you would save more money than buying at the store. I said if gas keeps going up, I probably wont make it. If it reaches $3 a gallon, that will be around $45 to fill up, down to the cruise. Another tank to fill to go back, etc. I want to go, but with all the excess money I have spent on moving into our new house, it might out weigh the cruise.

thanks, we close on Sept 26, I think. So, the move might interfere with the cruise, but I will see about that.

I think I'll check with the wife, to see if we can make the trip. She works weekends now, so it may not happen. Her mother and father live in Travelers Rest, SC, so we would have a place to stay for free....

$3.00 a gallon gas be damned.

Still a go?

With all of the gas hikes, just wondering if the cruise is still on?? Unless the gas gets to 10 dollars a gallon, I will be in.

Well, looks like I won't make it. We will be visiting the wife's parents the weekend before and making another long trip the following week is just not feasible.
