If she is a good driver, you will need all you can get to get that heavy vert to keep up!

I know a handful of the vette boys coming, should be a good crowd, we are still well outnumbered by the cobra guys, seems to be about 10:1!

I'm sure the weather will improve, Feb has been downright ugly here in Atl. If not I think Craig told me he has a hot tub!

I would like to see that Z06 tub! We have not met any other Z06 owners here in East TN that like to open track. They are all drag racers, if they race at all. As for my wife Jayne's driving skills she is new to open tracking as am I but she has good instincts, reactions and definitely no lack of competitive fire!

This is shaping up to be a great event at CMP and we are really looking forward to it.

Oh and to John Pearson and crew THANK YOU for all your work on putting this together!! I know we will have a ton of fun and learn a lot too!!

Well if it isn't good weather then I won't be able to play with you folks much! My car (soon to have 600 RWHP) doesn't like the wet with street tires!! It may be time for me to get some sticky tires for the open track season! Last year every time I touched the gas the rear end wanted to go in a different direction than the front of the car!!

JUST REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A RACE! This is for FUN only!!

Guys this is just smack talk... all in good fun.

Anyone that takes it as more then that should be condemned.

It is all part of the fun leading up to any type of event involving different opinions, feelings, brands..

My dad and I always say that 90% of the fun of any trip is the preparation, anticipation, discussion..

I agree wholeheartedly. DEs are are the place to get out and learn just what we and our cars are capable of. Is there some trash talk? YEAH! Is this racing? NO! We all want to go home with our wonderful Cobras and yeah those other cars too still in one piece. Most importantly we want everybody to go home unhurt.

That is, if I can keep it out of the shop long enough...

Hazman, you are right, most vette drivers don't race at all and this is very dissapointing. THe z06 crowd is a little better. I hang out with a good crowd of about 10 z06 guys down here in Atl, we hit road atlanta pretty frequently, where the z06 is pretty much the dominant car at panoz. I see many more z06's than c5's at the track. I have driven my car extremely hard since new, putting about 15 track events on it last year. It is very rare that I am passed by a street driven car, in fact, I can only think of 2 at the moment, a 911 turbo at sebring with hoosiers, which is on a video on my website, and my buddy Ryan's viper at road atlanta. I avenged him at VIR by beating him by 3 seconds. (New track to both of us) I have driven with some pretty mean looking mustangs at road atlanta, some of who are on this board, and I will be pretty surprised if a non-race stang can pass me at cmp . If one can, then great, I look forward to it!

As said, this is not a race, just some friendly fun, if you are on my bumper for two turns or so I will let you on by!

This truly makes me wish the Banana was still in one piece!

I know how you feel, I drove my camaro at Roebling in Jan and got passed by a cobra! That was a hoot, ran my car stock except for race tires until I corded them, finally pulled off the muffler because I couldn't hear the car, check out the lean in this pic

Believe it or not that stang is pretty stock. It does have a nice motor. I know Al and he is a really good driver.

Hey Tom

It is not the nuclear banana but you can make some laps at CMP in my 97 vert. if it will make you feel better. I know it is not yellow but it does have MM TA/PHB with H&R springs, Tokicos, MM C/C plates, all urethane bushings and Toyo RA-1s.

Timz06

Keep an eye out for me in your rearview along with my wife in her Z06. I would like to talk to you about Road Atlanta as well as get some tips on things to do for the Z06 for track days.

Man I am counting days now!!
