I'm working on hanging out with you guys as well for this one... will be kinda intense after running full course the Wed/Thurs just before it with our TZC/THSCC event (thanks to you mid-westerners joining us for that too!)... but I missed out on driving at my own South Course event last Monday, so I'm kinda jonesing for some South Course fun in my own car.

Those of you coming down to VIR for the first time, man are you in for a treat! And to get Full Course and South Course in one weekend... tres cool

Roll Bar

I blew a piston or ring last year in this event and still have not had a chance to fix my Cobra. I would love to go and drive my GT, but it is a convertible. Does anyone know what roll bar I can use? I found a few from Autopower, but I don't know which one meets the requirements for this event. I would like to use just the Street Roll Bar.

Hey Stacy,
I'm the guy who has been emailing you a lot of questions. Thanks for being patient with me.

I also am looking forward to 5 straight days of VIR! I just hope the car is still running at the end of the weekend. I've never been to VIR but from what I've been told, it is one awesome track.

BTW - Could you guys please order up some real good weather that week?

Ltr

JLT True Cold Air Becomes a 15th Anniversary Platinum Sponsor

We want to thank Jay Tucker of JLT True Cold Air for being a platinum sponsor for the SVT Cobra 15th Anniversary Celebration at VIR, May 30 - June 1, 2008.

You can visit Jay's website at www.jlttruecoldair.com and check out his products. Want to know which CAI kit I use on my 2004 Mystichrome Cobra?

It's a JLT which netted well over 20 rwhp at certain rpms of my dyno-graph.

The good thing about all of this is you can now "preorder" your kit and have Jay bring it with him to the event to help save on shipping. What's even better is you can get your car tuned after you install it by Pro-Dyno.

Installation takes about an hour or so and you can view the "results" by clicking here:

http://www.svtcobraclub.com/TechAppl...LT_Results.pdf

If you wish to preorder a kit for your specific application and have him bring it with him for the event to avoid shipping charges, please e-mail him at jay@jlttruecoldair.com

Thanks again to Jay of JLT True Cold Air and we're hoping for a great weekend of high speed fun!

Thanks Tony, I'm looking forward to the event.

We plan on getting to VIR Thursday and stay til Sunday.

So if your looking for anything we carry, please email or give us a call and we'll bring it.
We have many CAI kits for your Cobras, GT Mustangs and Shely GT500's.
We also have some new carbon fiber dress up parts for 2005 - up Mustangs.

Check out the web site and let me know.
Come by the trailer and say hi either way.

BTW, this will be my first track day, so be kind to the Alloy/Silver stripe GT500 that's in your way...

Thanks
Jay

You need the race bar. It is made from a larger diameter (ie stronger) tubing and has a diagonal cross brace. Regardless of the type of rollbar you install it renders the back seat unusable because it is no longer safe to ride back there surrounded by steel tubing. The race bar is safer in that it has the diagonal cross brace and is made for your heavier than 3500 pound car.

I suggest you also look at the Maximum Motorsports rollbar offerings. http://www.maximummotorsports.com/

Thanks Jay!

I want you to save those pretty crossdrilled/slotted rotors so I would suggest putting the stock solid discs back on for this event.

Advanced group will be pass either side with point by at any point on the track. We don't recommend doing it in the turns but we know people in the advanced group can/should be able to determine when to pass and when not to pass!

Lumpy, we will assign an instructor to you till you feel comfortable!

Serious?

What about the wheels? Should I run the stockers? Will the event beat up the finish on my pretty wheels?

It's getting new fluid, so I can swap the rotors too.
