Twin Turbo install underway! *pics*

Well, I got the IRS into my 97 so now I have something to drive everyday. That means the it's time to start tearing into the '03!

I did that Saturday evening

Here's Sunday's progress:

Not much to look at now, but it's started anyway.

A little more progress has been made, I'm ready to unbolt the k-member and start the resassembly process. I'll be busting my ass to get this thing together, bugs worked out, and tuned in time for the drag day.

Looks like allot of work, but also looks like you have done your homework! Good luck, and canīt wait to see the fiinished installation. Are the turbos going inside the fendors, or do they go up front? Good luck.

you're gonna use Randy, arent you? If so, we're gonna try and get a day sometime the first week of Nov and take it up there...would be cool to see the difference in the 50mm's and 67mm's

I am going to tune it myself, but I'm gonna do my WOT stuff on Randy's dyno. I told him I'd pay him for his time if he'd watch over me and make sure I don't mess anything up. Plus, it'll give us both some expirience tuning a street driven turbo'd mod motor. I'm hoping to have mine tuned before the november drag day, but if not, early november would be great.

Josh, if you get everything running by the first week in Nov., then maybe you can meet us in Raleigh to do some WOT tuning...im gonna let Randy take care of most of the specifics and keep a watchful eye on us as well

It should be up and running by then unless I find something wrong, or if I'm missing something I don't know about yet. I'm shooting to have the car ready to race at the drag day on november 5th. So perfect scenario, I'll be racing that Saturday. But, you can never have too perfect of a tune, so i'd be down with going up there for some race gas pulls or something.

I'm sorry, I missed your question. Thanks for the compliments. I've done quite a bit of research, so I hope I didn't forget anything. The turbos go up front behind the fenders. Really, a few inches above the fog lights. As my install progresses, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Well, here we go......

Here's the rig job..... had to put a piece of metal between the engine mount and the k-member to keep the header from hitting.

Piping from the header:

Hello MOTO!

Starting to come together.

After playing musical pipes, I got everything lined up. Here's the passenger side.

Starting to look like a turbo kit now.....

Just a corner view.

Here's just a mock up pic. Everything is just "dry mounted" just to make sure I get the clearance I need. It's coming together though.

I'm a little farther along, but the turbos aren't sitting up there anymore. I started putting gasket sealant and putting the oil fitting on the turbos. Also, I need to cut some plastic that's under there so it won't melt when things get hot. I hope you enjoy the pics guys!!
