Wilson Pickett dies of heart attack 1/19/06

Today in Virginia, Wilson Pickett dies from a heart attack. He was best known for his song, Mustang Sally, which is near and dear to all our hearts.

Condolences to his family.

Sucks to hear this. I've played that song at MANY gigs MANY times. Always a great one to play..especially when a fellow Mustang fan says "Thanks...you really do that some justice with your drumming" then they find out I own a Mustang as well and understand why!!haha He'll be missed...along with the other greats!!

Passing of Wilson Pickett

Routinely, Wilbur sits in my garage during the week anticipating the weekend. While getting ready for work early Friday morning, I heard the sad news on the radio of Wilson Pickett's untimely passing. At that moment, I decided to "break my rules" and make a tribute drive to work in his honor. Remembering this signature song when it was NEW as well as others he produced, I too regret his passing.
