Bought a 99 vert, did I do ok?

Hey guys,

First post on this forum, but not new to mustangs. Bought a White 99 Cobra vert the other day from Alabama, first Cobra and I really like the car. Sold our 03 Mach 1 and will be selling our 67 289 vert soon and combined both cars in to this new to us 99 Cobra. The car is very clean and is showing 46K. I paid 14K for this car, did I do ok? Do you think these cars will keep going down in value as the new Cobras are coming out or level off as long as the car is in good condition? I guess I am just looking for som reassurance as we stepped down in years from the Mach. Anyway have been at the Mach forum for quite some time and will be visiting this forum from now on! BTW this makes our 13th mustang, but our first Cobra!

Enjoy your new ride! As far as resale, it never hurts to take good care of it.

Is there an "Authorized Modifications" label at the front of the engine compartment?

Congrats on the new purchase! I think you'll find that the Cobra is truely in a world of its own. Although the 99 only sports a hair more horse than the 03 mach1, you're now treading the oh-so-sweet waters of SVT terrritory! Every time you race that needle up to the red, you'll be hearing the craftsmanship of a certain duo of certified engine builders, found stamped on top the left cam. No robotic machines glued these engines together.

Given the elective of keeping it clean, Cobras seem to hold their value better then any other stock mustangs (aside from classics, of course). It all really depends on how well you take care of her though. With Ford rumored to be possibly closing the SVT chapter, I'd suspect the cars to climb substancially in value in a matter of less than a decade.

Lastly, nothing really quite draws the eye like a shining Cobra on a sunny day. Its amazing how after 9 years, you'll still see people leaning over seats and around people just to have a look at a well groomed Cobra. While it's exclusivity isn't quite that of a Viper or Vette, you'll find that watchful eyes are always drawn...even with bone stock Cobras!

Welcome to the club, and I hope to see you at some events this year! Take car of that Cobra too!

Looks like you did good! I bought my 98 vert which is my first Cobra about 6 months ago for $16,000 and it already had some mods and custom paint job (mystichrome wanabe). Anyway, I love my vert and can't wait for the warm weather!
