wonky speedo

anyone ever experience an erratic speedo, started the cobra after about 15 min being off, after reversing i looked forward to notice the speedo just bouncing around all the way to 160 mph and back, one it settled it would move with a little rev of the engine and now seems to have calmed down slightly...anyone ever have this one???

That happend to me once on the dyno, my gas pedal got stuck under the carpet and bounced off the rev limiter a coulple of times. The speedo needle did a full sweep and then it settled down. This was last year and it has not happend since.
