I wouldn't mind seeing other SVT products on here but that is about it from the other forums I've been to and the troubles that are involved with other groups on the boards. I do enjoy coming here becuase I know what to expect when I come to our boards. I like the fact that everyone here is treated with respect and you always get help when needed.

I would agree with that. I do not see any reason why not to include all the SVT products since they are in part a family of vehicles (I think there is a club for that already SVTOA, funny though in the SVTOA web site, they do not have thier own message board or forum. The links "my svt" and the "message" takes you off site.)
It probably would not hurt to allow other mustangs in the club as well as increase traffic however one reason I like this club is that it is not cluttered with unrelated threads. At times I may venture into other sites just in case the same issues I may be attempting to tackle have been cured or at least the cause identified (for instance I found information how to remove carbon deposits out of a motor without taking it appart in an aviation forum as well as similar information in a BMW forum). If and when I would go into other mustang related sites I am only looking for SVT related threads and not those associated with the 2v or 3v motors (however the 2v cousins may be more relavant than the 3v motors since they may have common parts than Fords new mod motor.)
To be honest, I spend more time in this site than any other. It is rare that I would post in other forums since I found this site.

I feel most of use see it the same way. I also would like to say the posts so far are right on target.

TAZZRACING1: I do enjoy coming here because I know what to expect when I come to our boards. I like the fact that everyone here is treated with respect and you always get help when needed.

Right on the money.

AUSIE: To be honest, I spend more time in this site than any other. It is rare that I would post in other forums since I found this site.

Me too.

I like the idea of the phrase SVT Products and I think it means we like the full line of products.
In other words I would like to see for example: Ford GT, GT500 they have a SVT power plant and you can’t forget the Focus and Lightning, I feel they all should be add to the club.

Thanks for your replies guys as I just wanted to see what others thought. We do have a forum for "Other SVT Products" but no one really uses it. Sometimes I just want to see the traffic on this board increase but then I have to remember we specialize in one product and rather than going to other sites where there is a lot of clutter and off topic threads, you can come here and get some good answers for anyone with a problem situation. Basically, this club has always been quality over quantity and we're strolling right along!

I voted for SVt or Mustangs, but it should stay SVT (IMO)
our site has everything from Mustangs to EVO's now, and then
even more issues etc.

SVT, what else is there? If I wanted to see the other guys I would go to there website. I think when you buy a cobra, you are you saying you want the best! Not just buying a six and changing the badges! SVT Rocks!

Here’s my .02 worth.

If it as a Cobra site shouldn’t the 1976 (?) cobra II be allowed? It is not the SVT or even a SVO but Ford did call it a Cobra. I know it was just stickers and plastic bolt on’s called a Cobra package, But Ford still called it a Cobra, and it was the starting point for the Cobra line for Ford.

I am not in favor of letting all Mustangs in. There are plenty of sites available for the early mustangs. But the Ford got back into the performance seen with the Fox body 1979 turbo Indy Pace car. Then a few years later they had the SVO Mustangs followed by the SVT line. We should "at least" allow the SVO mustangs in. I mean that the SVO did evolved into the SVT by a one-letter change, so lets not forget our roots.

"If" Ford were to build the 2005 Shelby Cobra concept car, would it be allowed in? It wouldn’t be a Cobra mustang but a whole new animal called a Cobra with nothing in common with anything else Ford has made to date. It would probably be like the GT40 and only made for a few years anyway. The 2007 Shelby GT 500 is a SVT car just like the Lighting, but it is still not a Cobra. It should be allowed in under the SVT badge and given it’s own category.

With the demise of the SVT division at Ford and the number of Cobras that have been wrecked by inexperienced drivers getting more car then they can handle, we will have a very limited amount of potential owners that qualify for member ship. Ford could always rebuild the SVT division in the future. But I will not be holding my breath on this one. But stranger things have happen.

I have owned mustangs all my life and currently own 1965 convertible that needs restoring, 89 fox body as well as a 04 Cobra. I look at all the boards for information that can relate to any of the above cars. You never know when you will pick up a tid-bit of information you need. So I would not be opposed to adding fox body and newer mustangs to the site provided that they are performance orientated and or meet some other pre-selected criteria. We must look ahead for the future for the club. If nothing else lets keep the Ford performance brotherhood alive.

This is just my .02 worth.

Mixed feelings. Special cars, special people (the one's I have met are anyway), so a special club bulletin board. Lots of other boards for general performance vehicles, mustang only, etc.

But, don't mind sharing information about what we love.

Forums for other SVT products, or Ford Performance vehicles would be nice to have and interesting to read about.

Would that change the rules about club membership or BB registration?

Like I said, mixed thoughts on this one. Good question.

EDIT: - should have checked the thread dates. Sorry to be late in posting. I really gotta get out of the office more often!

I like the uniqueness of this Cobra forum. The crowd is very unique, the opinions are unique, and we all share something in common. Having the "Other SVT" thread is fine. Adding the latest products such as the GT and the GT500 would be a good thing as they represent SVT's latest and greatest, but let's certainly not add other mustangs such as the GT and V6's. If they want to be part of a unique croud, then they can buy a Cobra like I did.

Does this board need more traffic? I do not know what that benefit would be. For our group functions, we always invite other clubs and owners as seen last weekend, so it's not like we're a bunch of snobs who don't want to include outsiders.
