just joined from OK

I just joined up on this site. My wife and I have an 04 blAck Cobra puttin out a little over 500hp on motor. It has 10.5x17's on the back with 315 rubber. It wont hook up from a dig or any speed in first or second for that matter. Im thinkin drag radials, maybee 335's and I want gears but am not sure what ratio(3.73,4.10,etc). I want to hook up hard but dont know if I will risk breaking anything. Any advice will help. thanks, Steve B.

welcome, I've been to broken arrow, grew up in Ok.

as for tires you should be ok with 315 dr's. 335 might get a little tight expecially if you are lowered or still have stock irs bolt.

not alot of people change the gears in these cars mostly because of the instant tourge that they put out. and as we know gears are a tq multiplier. if you car doesnt hook now it defiantly wont if you do gears.

Sticky tire will help out, I've got MT 275 on the back and coil overs in the front with 540 rwhp and 542rwtq. I hook in first on good clean pavement on the street.

Welcome to the boards . If you still have the stock IRS (assuming that you did not swap it for an SLA) best investment if you do not have it yet would be the differential brace to prevent breakage once you get the hook. Even though my 04 is still in stock form except for the cat back, I am too in need for better rear end grip. I have heard many who have had good milage out of Nitto 555R drag radials. When it comes to rubber, consider the average climate you drive in especially if your ride is a daily driver in the summer. With 17 inch wheels you should have plenty of sidewall flex for good grip with the DR's on the straights. Not sure how the much roll you will get on tight turns. It all depends on what you want to do with the car most of the time. If drag racing is your game then DR's would be an improvement. That is something I have been considering for some time now wheather or not to get DR's.
