Top Gear: GT500 Test Drive

I'm sorry but these people are pretty stupid.

I especially like the Dyno part.

That show presents a lot of misconceptions, especially to those that use it as the basis of their "car knowledge" without doing their own research. As far as the dyno goes, maybe he should have done his research on "brake horsepower" vs "horsepower to the wheels" before making himself look like a car expert who does not know much about how cars work. I guess they better bring back all the BMW's and Ferrari's and compare their "Brake horsepower" to what they put to the ground.

I also agree that the GT500 should have had an IRS option, but making live axle sound like some archaic piece of junk.... is just irresponsible from a car tv show. They totally leave out the fact that A:The drag racing base of the mustang fans will benefit from the live axle, and B: the redesigned live axle on the S-197 chassis has been able to beat the porsches and bmws in grand am with the proper setup. But, there is a automatic -100 points to the Mustang for being an American car I guess.

But, at the end of the day, to own a Mustang, you must lust after your sister, right.. .

P.S. Ford did a HORRIBLE job with the GT-500 suspension. The suspension seems barely enough to just handle the weight increase, let alone showing any sign of being dialed in. In the proper hands, it is still lethal, but the Rousch stage III and the Shelby GT put it to shame when it comes to suspension refinement (refer to MultiMatic)

Do what I did... I went to the Top Gear site and sent them a message on the contact us page. I asked why someone on their show doesn't know the difference in BHP and RWHP and I asked them to explain how the 3 link is out of date when (IF PROPERLY TUNED) it can out handle a Porshe's suspension system. Noting that FORD did NOT properly tune the suspension on the GT 500 for road courses. I also asked if they would have a segment where said DA would retract and correct his statements.
