Bristol Fun Ford Weekend Car show

I was just informed just this week by Crystal from FFW that the car show participants will be set up under the big hospitality tents. I knew they were working on them last year during the event and questioned why they did not have them available for us to use. Here is the response.

Bristol Car Show

FFW has been concerned about the lack of shade in the car show area at the Bristol Event and this year the car show will set up in a hospitality lot that will be shaded. This was scheduled to happen last year but there was a miscommunication between the round track and the dragstrip.

I know I have met a few of the gentlemen and ladies here at the FFW at Bristol and I know this will be a WELCOMED addition. I know last year the sun/heat got so unbearable that many did not come back for Sunday. Just wanted to let you know.

That is outstanding news! We did not even attend FFW Bristol last year because of the heat. We had just been to Mustang Week the week before and the heat index on car show day was 107...all with us standing on asphalt. It was literally unbearable...many left the show early. All with a stout breeze coming off the ocean. At those temps, it was just more hot air.

This is one of the stops on the FORD FUN WEEKEND tour. It is the weekend of Aug 3, 4, 5 2007.

Car show is on Saturday with the TOP 25 given out. These are voted on by the participants. We need to get as many together to vote for each other. Last year a local car club walked away with almost all of the Top 25 trophies and most of the cars were JUNK. I am not trying to rag someone's car but when there is more rust than paint, well you get the picture.

Car show on Sunday has many different catagories. I forget how many trophies/plaques but somewhere between 25 and 50 or so. Judges are professionals and also UPR and (LAST YEAR) Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords picked some of the winners.

Hope to get to meet some more of the people here this year.

I believe it was close to the hottest it has ever at Bristol last year. My wife and daughter had to go sit in the truck with the a/c on Saturday afternoon. We ended up going up the hill and into the shaded part of the stands to cool off. Only problems was everyone else had the same idea. I just hate to leave my car "open" like that with no one else around to watch over it.
I wanted to go to Mustang Week this year and check it out but my wife's family involved us in a get together and I had to cancel my plans. I really would have liked to have gone. Maybe next year.

Steph and I plan on being there this weekend IF we dont have a pull. I have 2 kinda long pulls so far, 1 to Phoenix Arizona and maybe 1 to the Canadian border. We have to leave out in the morning to take 2 Chevelles and 1 custom Chevy truck to Columbas Ohio. Hope to see you guys.

Hope you get to come also. Everyone needs all the votes they can get for Saturday's top 25. Competitors are the ones who get to vote for Saturdays awards. There is a car club that shows up every year only for Saturday. They were bragging how their junk, some of it is in pretty bad shape comes in and walks away with all the good awards. All of us in late model Stangs 80s and up need to get together and vote all of us in.
