Kumhos have a decent life span. I have some Toyo Proxes 4 on my 97, have probably 30k miles on them. There is good tread left, just starting to dry from where I don't drive the car as much.

I use Nitto 555R Drag radials... 275/40/17 rear, 245/45/17 front and love the tire..... then dont seem to be too bad in the rain either.

Would you guys recommend the same tire size for 2 17"x9" front wheels and 2 18"x9" rear wheels? I just picked up a set of Helo wheels from a lady here in Anchorage and they are brand new in the boxes. Looks like they were made in 2001 and 2002 and as near as I can tell, they look a lot like the Cobra R wheels, (they also have the Cobra R snake center caps). I think that they must be discontinued models since they don't show up on Helo's website.
Thanks, John |

One thing I forgot to mention is that I have a set, (front and rear), of Steeda Sport springs and Koni shocks that I'll be installing one of these days. Would lowering the body make any difference on the tire size used on those Helo wheels?
I've also heard that the '99 Cobra with the IRS can sometimes rub the inside of the tire when you don't stay with stock wheels and tires? Has anyone heard of that? John |

I have the KDW 2's on my other car and love them! I have the BFG sports on my mustang right now. They're not bad but they don't give me enough traction so I'll be upgrading to the KDW's soon. As far as sizes, I would go with around a 275 to 295 on the rear and a 255 to 265 on the front. I've got 17x9 rims on the front with 255/35 tires and eibach sport springs and at full crank I rub just a little. With 18's I definitely wouldn't go any wider than a 255 up front if it were me. I haven't tried it though...
Hope that helps ![]() Dan

I agree. No wider than a 275 on a 9''
