Question Decals???

Hey all,

I was lookin' around for some possible rear bumper decals for my '96 Cobra. I came across Bob White Decals. They state they are licensed by FMC for their decals. They also state they only use 3M vinyl, which I have used and it's usually good stuff.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with their product? Or maybe even what decal companies to avoid. I don't want to put some decals on and find out they fade or peel off within a year; especially since I live out West where it's friggin' 100+ degrees every day during the summer.

Thanks!
Mat

a lot of us run the stainless bumper letters. They are not that much more, and look sharp as hell. They would look real nice against the black. I bought mine from http://www.scottwinger.com/store.html He, also, makes stainless build #'s. I have some for mine, and put them right below the "SVT" badge on the trunk.

I've had the black reflective decals on my car from Bob White for 10 years now and they look like they were just installed.

Actually his store is gone so you can't get them from him. But you can get stainless ones from Tony at his site: http://www.dataplatesplus.com/

NC - Thanks for the info. The only reason I didn't go staight to the stainless ones is because I want them in gold. Anytime I did a search, they were only stainless/chrome. That's when I found the Bob White site that showed the reflective vinyl in gold. I want the car to be black & gold. Always loved that look.

Allan - Thanks for the heads up on the link. I'll check to see if they have any in gold for the heck of it.

Larry - I appreciate your input. Always good to hear actual customer experience with a dealer/shop/parts place. If I can't find the stainless in gold (I know, doesn't even sound possible. LOL), then I think I'm going with the Bob White decals.

Mat, it may be possible to get the stainless in gold, but I haven't seen it offered that way anywhere.

BTW, you have a nice website. I had a few minutes the other night and browsed through some of your pictures.

An update on Scott's webiste. He sent me an email and told me he had to close his sites thanks to Ford. He is currently working on a new website and that address will be: www.stainlessbumperinserts.com

When I checked this morning I was still getting a site under construction page from the service provider, but he should have the new site up soon.

Hey there Allan,

Thanks a bunch for the compliments on my site. I actually have some car show & NHRA pictures and such I have to upload, but haven't had the chance yet. Maybe tonight I'll get lucky and upload them.

I'll have to check around for the gold stainless, but haven't found them as of yet either. Only other thing I can do is get the stainless and maybe take them to a plating place to change them to gold for me.

I'm thinking about ordering (saw them on eBay actually) the set of cobra badges (two side badges, the grille badge and the SVT badge on the rear) and taking them all to a plater to get them done in gold. This way it would match the bumper inserts as well.

Eventually I'd like to get a "two stripe" decal to put on the car up the front, roof and rear. I've seen a lot of photos here where that looks really nice. So, if I can get those in gold, I think that would do the trick for me.

Helllllllll yeeeeessssss! Thanks a bunch NC. I couldn't find them anywhere when I did a search! I just wish they had a pic of the gold plated ones on the site, but I'll use my imagination. LOL That's what I'm lookin' for. I really appreciate it!

Now I'll have to get those and then order a set of the Cobra emblems and get them gold plated to match.

Oh, and thanks a bunch for the compliment on my work. I do appreciate that.
