New Fuel Pump!

Hello gents!
I m replacing the dead fuel pump on my 98 svt with a new part.
the new assembly has an extra harness? can this be left unconnected or ?

some old schoolers would know this...

I replaced my pump 4 or 5 month's ago and it had the same harness.I got it from advanced auto.It was factory replacement for a 98 cobra.I was at the race track when it failed so I took what I could get.But it works great.
