'99 Suspension Mod's

Well, thanks to this club and the discounts that we receive....

we have been able to afford to install a few mod's in our stock '99 (Flash)....

It wasn't easy driving Trigger and then climbing into the '99 .... well, let's just say it was "nice" ....
but something was missing ..

Kenny Brown suspension mod's arrived Friday afternoon.
4.10 gears and Abbott speed compensator
Magnaflow xpipe and catbacks.

Tim did all the welding this weekend -
all the braces, upper and lower are on.
Caster plus is in -
springs/bushings/ etc. etc.

coil overs will have to wait until next year !!

x pipe is installed - catbacks tomorrow !!

sheesh - this is addictive .. but fun !!

thanks BD !!

more to come ....

as for me doing us proud at Gingerman ...

well, let's just say I'll probably be in the beginner's class forever .... several reasons ..
one of the reasons being that we both want to drive, and the car is going to need a "cooling" down period ...
So, I will need to stay in "A" so that he can drive in "C"...
I know that he could advance to "D", but I don't want him too -
The "D" class is where I have seen the most accidents. Not that I don't trust him, cuz I doo - but you never know ..

But then again, maybe I shouldn't hold him back .. ??

however, I will tell Tim - perhaps he will be able to "DO US PROUD" !!

Bonny,

I would think that the D class (assuming that to be the advanced class) would be the safest. Those drivers have the most experience. At the events I've been to, every class has people go off, but the more severe accidents are at the beginner level because they didn't know how to handle a car that's "out of shape." Just my opinion.

If Tim is ready for D, then let him run in that group. I had fun chasing him around the track last year!

your sure???

well - you have been to allot more track events than I have ...
so maybe your right.

However, most of the bad accidents that I have seen have been in the advanced class... ?? Yes, everyone goes off, but the worse accidents I have seen have been in D ...

Maybe what we should do is start out in A and C and see what the instructor's tell us .. then maybe they will advance us like they did last year... then, we could go to B and D.

we definitely want to give the car a rest !!

oh yea,
and Tim says that a year ago,

he was on YOUR tail ....
(Road Atlanta)

....
hmmmm , we remember, following one of the sessions ...
you telling Tim something about that being "you" that he was right on the tail of .....

hey, I was in the car with him. I remember that yellow Cobra !!

That was you !!

do I sense some competition here ???

Take Road Atlanta for example... None of the mangled cars were in the A group. They were all in the Touring and B groups.

Good idea... plus, if he's in the D group, then he can't take a ride in the banana.

That was in the touring group. Everybody was on everybody's tail.

I was talking about Gingerman when he was spanking everybody, including me, in the contour.

Bonny,

Advanced is the "A" group and "D" is the beginners group. As for my brother Tim. Let him drive his 99 the way he wants to drive it. You have Trigger and he has Flash so let him have some fun with it. Do you want him out there worrying about how fast he can go because he knows you are on the sidelines worrying about it? Then he'll make a mistake worrying about what you are thinking and screw up. However, if you just let him drive it the way he wants to and not worry about it then he can concentrate more on the road and less on what could happen. Just my .02 worth.
