Torque Conversion

Ok kids, I posted this on FB and got no response so I am trying it again here.
I recently had to have my engine rebuilt, no compression, well it only has 105k miles on it. My mechanic did a little tweaking here and there, had it balanced, added a chip, smaller pulley, yada yada yada.
My dyno numbers are in torque and it seems they weren't interested in the conversion to HP as I am. Both my mechanic and his assistant seem to think you add 15% to the torque number. So here are my numbers: 425.52 rw and 451.13 max torque.
Any thoughts on this, because if the 15% is true i would have about 488 rwhp and 518 hp.
Thanks in advance!
Debbie

It sounds to me that you are getting flywheel hp and and rear wheel hp numbers mixed up with torque numbers. I have never heard about torque and hp having a number attached to it like flywheel and rearwheel hp. If you have 500 hp at the flywheel, you would have about 425 rear wheel hp or a 15% drag from the drivetrain. This is mostly true for automatics so your manual transmission may let you be in the 440 rwhp range. Not sure what your mechanic is talking about and why he would just measure torque and not hp.

425 rear wheel HP is about right with a tune, pulley and CAI.
