Modular Shootout - Who's going?
The Modular Shootout (June 29 & 30) is right around the corner. They've moved the event back to Cecil County Dragway this year. Who all from the SCMC is planning on going? I know that Tom Crews, JC, Scott Winger and myself will all be there.

I can't wait...this is going to be the biggest shootout so far.
Scott has around 50 pre-registered car show participants, Dave has a ton of race participants, all the big dogs will be there (Joe Stewart, John Mihovitz, Randy Heywood, Ben Dorn, etc..). We'll see some 7 second modular cars running, as well as some bracket racing for all Ford cars (5.0 or 4.6). Oh yeah....ESPN2 will be there filming, 5.0 mag and I think MM&FF as well as Scott & Angela getting married at the track on Saturday!!!

Good deal Dave. When do you plan on leaving? Tom and myself are going up on Thursday (morning) to be able to spend some time with Scott & Angela. We are going to meet JC and Kathy around Charlotte somewhere. If you can swing it you can follow us.

I could do that. I have sisters lving in the DC area, may want to drop off and visit with them Thursday night, then come on up to upper Maryland Friday morning.
I could meet your group on I-85 between Durham and the Virginia line. When and where? Are you guys just in the show or are you in the competition as well?

I'm staff (as usual) and will be judging the car show. Rob is competing in the car show and of course pre-registered so he could get the cool free jacket.
We are meeting JC and Kathy around around 8:00am Thursday in Charlotte and then heading towards Maryland. We went I-85 almost all the way then jumped on I-95 I think outside of Richmond, VA. The hotel we are staying in is the Crystal Inn which is right off of I-95 (exit 101 if I remember correctly). We did make quite a few stops on the way up (bathroom, food, leg-stretch).

I'm staying at my sister's place Thursday night, then up to Crystal Inn on Friday morning.
If you can predict when on Thursday you'll be coming through Durham in I-85, then I can try to meet you at exit 191 (sign says Butner, about 10-15 miles past Durham). There are lots of service stations and fast food places there, might be a good rest stop. My cell # in the car is (919) 414-0252. I can position myself at the first gas station on the right after you come up the ramp. I can cruise with you to Washington, where I'll bail and go around to the southwest, then up to sister's house. NOTE: I do have a teleconference I need to participate in from home that morning from 10 to 11, then I need as half hour to get to the exit on I-85. If it looks like this will delay you too much, then I'll just come up on my own.

JC & Kathy and myself are heading up Thursday morning, leaving Charlotte around 8:00am. Not sure what Rob's plans are yet, we had planned to ride together but I think he wants to leave that afternoon so I'll be driving something up there.
