Good idea Rod but....... if I were going, I'd want to go in the Fall, say November or Spring, say March/April. The rates are cheaper, not as crowded so it could be just all of us Mustangers. Going in July means premium hotel bills, crowded everywhere, and we'd all be in a mix. You can also get beach front hotels really easy for a lot less during those months. we could line the streets of the main drag and cruise all night without it being bumper to bumper for hours on end.

Of course that's just me so others may want the hot weather, premium hotel prices, and deal with the crowds. BTW, it's still about 80 degrees at Myrtle in November so it wouldn't be like it would be blustery cold. JMHO

I totally agree with Tony on this one. I've stayed at Ocean Isle and driven down to North Myrtle and Myrtle Beach in the month of July. It is EXTREMELY crowded. Not to mention you are paying top dollar for hotels, long waits to eat and you might as well forget about cruising the strip. Why not try something like October??

Yeah but isn't the "chick factor" higher in the summer time than in the fall or early spring?

Tom,

We're all married so that might have a hair to do with it but I can see your point. Looking never hurt anyone.

Something about a cruise at 1.7 MPH in 90 degree heat......talk about wearing out the clutch leg...........3 hours per mile?

I'd rather cruise at a few more miles per hour than July would let us do.

Broadway at the Beach is a good place to show the cars, though.

I agree with you dave, I'm all for a beach cruise, but really would like to do it NOT in the high season..

November-February lends itself well to topless cruising...

They definitely seem to be. Maybe none of them have ever been in Myrtle Beach during Harley week. Typically you don't go to the beach that week unless you have a Harley. I used to work every summer at Myrtle Beach and it was way cool to see nothing but bikes (no rice-rockets either) cruising around all week long. The police were out in force more....but that goes with the "profile".

A Mustang week would be extremely cool and yes it would have to take place during the summer.

If you just want to 'cruise' to the beach well you can do that anytime of the year....this is something totally different.

Totally different? Absolutely! But again, I'd rather do it when it is cooler and not as crowded.

As for the chick factor.... look at it this way. Say this thing gets built up to 1000 people attending or more. Then all of the cool chicks you will be looking at and drooling over will own Ponycars. You can cruise the blvd and have time to lear or you can do it in the summer when everyone is bumper to bumper, hot as h*ll, a freakin zoo, and you just missed the dang red light while the chicks run off to the next one, only to ride off in the sunset.

(Thought to myself: If only those dang harley bikers, corvettes, Camaros, Firebirds weren't here!)

Get my point????
