03 Cobra dyno #'s!

This guy posts as yellowhorse on BON, from NC... check this out, all he's added is the Bassani catback and catted Xpipe.. This new car fever is killing me....

I decided to dyno today to at least prove to my own satisfaction what the 03 will do. Mods are a Bassani catted x-pipe and catback, K&N air filter and the silencer removed. I drove over 20 miles to get to the shop and drove it straight up on the rollers no cool down. I only made two pulls.
Max Power: 394.7
Max Torque: 374.3

The numbers are SAE. The torque curve is flat as a pancake. It put up 358.3 lb-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm till it peaked at 4200 and held to 322.7 to 6400 rpm. I'll scan the dyno sheet and the sheet that shows the numbers for each 100 rpm increments at work on Monday. I don't have a scanner at home.

I am very pleased. I was telling the dyno owner about how widespread the dyno numbers that had been reported and that I was hoping for at least 360 rwhp even with the exhaust. I about passed out when my first run netted 392 HP. He told me the best LS-1 he had dynoed was a modded WS-6 TA. HE said he'd dynoed some C5's at 290 rwhp.

People can downgrade and bash the 03 and make BS comparisons to Z06's and Vipers all they want to. Put LT's, o-road h-pipe and 4.10 gears and the 03 will show the Z06 tail lights all day. The guy that owns this shop has some very impressive cars in his inventory. He has a 615 CI all aluminum 68 ZZ28 that's putting out 800 HP. He had about 8 cars that were all very impressive. But, if I had my pick I would take the little Corvair he had. It was solid white with blue stripes and polished IROC wheels. It had a rear mounted Nascar Busch V-6 engine that they ran a few years ago. He said it put 400 hp on the rollers. It still had the dry sump on it.

Talking 03 dyno

[B][SIZE=1][FONT=courier new][COLOR=darkblue]I can tell you from experience that my sonic blue 03 is like driving a rocket. It has got to be the most fun car I ever drove. Cant wait to make my mods to see it really get mean.

There's a mineral grey coupe at Pulliam Ford in Columbia, SC being sold at sticker. Somewhere around $34K. As of yesterday, it was still there.

394 was flywheel not rwhp, was it? Either way, it is killer, the
way it should be.
