Goodbye to an old friend

Guys,

Well I sold my 1970 Boss 302 Mustang today to Ron Simmons from Dallas. It sure was sad to see it go but I know it will be in good hands. Hopefully I will see it on the track sometime in the future.

Attached is a web site with a few pictures of the car.

http://groups.msn.com/SVTCobraR/1970...nw?albumlist=2

I guess I will just have to take my CobraR out on the track and get my spirits up again..lol

Joe

Very Sweet Car Joe! It's a beauty. I know how you must be feeling right now because I just delivered my baby to the new owner too.

Sorry to hear that, Joe. I bet it is tough to let a beautiful car like that go. Go get some hot laps in to take your mind off it.

Joe, you certainly have good taste in your choice of cars. It must be rough parting with such a nice Boss 302, especially since you have owned it since it was new. But, you have such a good time in your 2000R, may you enjoy 30 plus years with it also .

Guys,

Thanks for the kind words. I am not sure what I want to replace the Boss 302 with. I am thinking about the new Mach 1 for my wife. The SHO Taurus is getting to the end of its life.

Does any one have a better suggestion for a nice car for the wife.? She said she might like a truck but the only one I would consider is the Lightning and it really does not have sufficient room in it.

I'm not positive about this but will the next Harley Davidson Ford Truck have the Lightning motor? If so, it at least has an extended cab.

Dean I've seen the new HD Ford and it does have the Lightning motor with a smaller pulley so it doesn't have quite the HP of the L but it does have the extended cab!!

I think I am going to look at the new Lincoln LS for my wife...I have heard that it is a nice car that handles well. Does anyone know if you can get the 4.6 V8 motor in it...I am going to go car shopping next Sunday with my wife...lookout I think Joe is about to drop some $$$...lol...I guess it is about time to spend some on the wife..so she will let me run and play with my Cobra R.. It is now having a new roll cage installed. Should have it back by the end of the month...After watching that Shelby GT350 roll up at Hallett a few weeks ago I decided to put a better cage in..

Yes, the GT350 roll was not a pretty site. I'm just glad the driver was OK.

They do not put the 4.6 in the LS but they do have a model with a V-8 but I'm not sure about the displacement. I'm sure that is a little smaller though.

BTW - Thanks for the tape of Hallet. Now I know all your speed secrets!

The LS is a super-nice car! I've heard they handle really well, and ride very smooth, a nice compromise between a luxury and performance car....I think the V8 is the 3.9L not the 4.6L but I do know that it has the 5-speed select-shift auto trans, which is pretty neat....
