Decent Paint / Body Shop in Houston ?

I am sick to my stomach ...

A friend brought his child (2-3 year old) over yesterday, and the little darling decided to key the hood of my R.

I have some real nice hack marks in the clear coat, and they are wide enough where I know they won't polish out and I refuse to patch this over.

Any suggestions on a decent body shop around Houston, preferably in the NW area ? I want it fixed right, even if it means re-shooting the whole hood, as I don't want it to show up later on.

The thing that really kills me is that the parent did nothing to the child, other than pick him up and not let him run around. No discipline, just a discussion about how that was a bad thing to do. Whatever. I know if I did that as a kid, I would have been beaten til the next day.

I refuse to child-proof my house, so I guess I'll have to restrict access for the kid to the couch only, as I have all kinds of stuff that is very expensive and or irreplacable. And it is painfully obvious that the parent is not going to do their job.

Thanks for any help...

Don

Don,

Just reading that made me cringe that kid needs a

unfortunately, I have lost all faith in body shops, since every single one that i have been to has screwed up my car one way or another... but.. there is a place on dairy ashford and briar forest, on the west side that does touch up, I don't remember the name but I remember they do a great job fixing scratches.....

I will ask around...

My Dad just had a bunch of nasty scratches fixed on his Porsche. You wouldn't know there had been any to begin with. It's Don McGill/Momentum on the Katy Fwy. Maybe they will tell you the guy is.

Try Northgate Collision. It's on 1960, near Kuykendahl.
Owners name is Guy Mahaffey.

Thanks for the info guys...

A friend back home knows a body guy, and he suggested trying 3M Finessit-II first ... Since that is what most body shops use to buff out light scratches.

If that don't do it, then I'll be calling around.

I feel a little better, but am still doing a slow burn. I feel like the kid should be restricted from the house, and I suspect the parents will be too. Just no sense of responsibility...

Thanks again and hope to meet you all this weekend ...

Thumbs up THIS MAN IS THE BEST!!!!

THIS GUY IS AWESOME!!!!! He will go out of his way to make it right! He is reasonable on price, and is used to dealing w/ "Show Car Picky People!" . He stays very busy, but he does a jam up job, and I find, he usually underbids his jobs.....(for the quality of work that he does...) If you have not found anyone yet, give him a call! I promise he WILL NOT disappoint you! Good luck to you!
