Selling 1996 Cobra with a ton of Kenny Brown performance parts.

I need some guidance here.My friend is wanting to sell his 1996 Cobra with a bunch of Kenny Brown performance parts. This car is very nice and has low miles. He isnt into the internet at all so he asked for my help. The problem is,is that I am not sure what his car is worth.I have all the paperwork on the car.Everything that has been done to it.I even have the title in my hand so I can go ahead and sell it when I finally find out what I should be asking for the car.I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

Thanks in advance.......

How many miles on the car?? What condition is the interior?? Exactly what KB parts are on the car?? Are there any other mods done to the car??? Do you have pictures?? These would help estimate what the car is worth.

Thanks for the reply. The car has just under 14k miles on it.The interior is immaculate. It has Cobra R wheels. The car is supercharged. It has both the Kenny Brown series 1 and series 2 packages. The series 1 was $13,344.00 and the series 2 cost $15,235.00 I will have to find out exactly what each package includes for sure.I do know that the car has the 289 engine upgrade with high performance pistons. The car has the Kenny Brown suspension upgrade also. The car has the SVO ceramic coated headers, competition grade oil cooler.ARUCA'S rear lower control arm bushings.Extreme Chassis Support System Upgrade.A pillar gauge cluster for the gauges. The car was bought brand new and I have the window sticker that says $26,670.00
The car has been adult owned, always garaged, and never really driven hard.It sits under a car cover year round. The car will be arriving to my house later this week and I will take pics of the car for anyone who may be interested.I believe my friend also has dyno sheets on the car if that will help.Hope this info helps you Big daddy

Thanks Kevin

Check your commas as they are off a bit The Level 1 AGS was around 1,200 and the Level 2 AGS was a few dollars more. You do one or the other but not both as Level 2 just has a few more parts then level 1.

A full KennyBrown Cobra with suspension and engine (289) should be around $35,000-$36,000. That's from KennyBrown's website (cost of car plus $9,000 in KB modifications). So purchased new in '96 at $36,000.00 I'd suggest a price around $25,000 or so. Most '96 Cobras sell from $12,000-$16,000 depending on their condition. Mods really don't help the price but being a KennyBrown car will/should help some. So taking a well cared for '96 ($16,000) and adding the full retail value of the mods ($9,000) gives you $25,000.00. That's probably going to be hard to get though but it's a starting place.

As a reference...I had a friend with a '98 Cobra, fully built/forged engine with supercharger, lots of additional mods (upgraded tranny, gears, tires/wheels, etc...) and in very good condition and I think he sold it for under $24k. That's a '98 vs. the '96 your buddy has. Now being a KennyBrown car again may help in the resale value.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. There must be a problem somewhere with the pricing on the Kenny Brown pacakges that my friend paid for.I have all receipts on the car and they were exactly as I typed them.I have the actual receipts for all the work done on the car.The series 1 was $13,344.00 and the series 2 cost $15,235.00 And the car does have both packages I mentioned. So I wonder what my friend did wrong?? He told me that he had about $60,000.00 in the car.I even talked to someone at Kenny Browns and they verified the work done on the car and the prices that my friend paid also.So did my friend overpay or what???

Thanks Kevin

I have no clue, I'd like to know if there's a different series or something than what they list on their website.

Even so...I can't see how you could spend $30,000 on suspension components, that's more than the price of the car.

Having all documentation/receipts/etc.. will definitely help. Good luck with the sale.

I have about $20k in my car above the purchase price and that's tubular front suspenion, shocks/struts, coil-overs, full exhaust, rebuilt forged engine with ported heads and custom cams, supercharger, upgraded radiator, wheels, driveshaft, complete fuel system, etc....etc....etc.... and that's including labor.

Good luck, wish I could offer more help.

Thanks for the reply.Well the car doesnt just have $30,000.00 in suspension parts, that would be crazy I agree. That is both the kits combined. That price includes $9500.00 for the 289 Series Engine Upgrade.Like I said I can find out more about the car if anyone is interested.I appreciate the advice so far.Hopefully we can figure out what we should be asking for the car.The guy I talked to from Kenny Brown said after looking at the mods done to the car by them that we should be asking between $40,000.00 and $50,000.00,but thats coming from someone who works for Kenny Brown too.I know the car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

By the way was your car built by Kenny Brown?? Just curious.

Thanks Kevin
