Opinions Please (new member)

Heres a pic of what my 99 looks like now. Im just curious as to what you guys think of her. I really love the way she looks but I really like the looks of the Saleen body kit (IE the cover of this months 5.0 mag). I am also curious about what you guys think of the non-Saleen mustangs with the kits, they look great but would it make me look like a "poser"?

Thanks,
Chris

Nice car!

IMHO, you won't look like a poser if you put a Saleen body kit on your car. Those things look real nice. Good luck with it and make sure you post some pics if you get the kit!

I love the look of the 99+ saleens. I just love them. Check out Scott Winger's car for example. his car is flat out beautiful. But, you can't dislike the look of the '00 R's either. It looks like you've got a good start on the '00 R. Or, you can leave you car looking the way it is. It looks great the way it sits. You should do whatever makes ya happy. I personally would rather have a built up cobra with the saleen body kit/seats etc. But, toss some boost on the 4V motor and stuff Maximum Motorsport's T/A PHB kit on there. Then You'd out accelerate one, and outhandle the real ones (most of them that is).

When $$$ permits she will be S/C. Im thinkin ill just stick with the way it looks now with just a few more tweaks here and there. Theres more than one GT around here that allready has the saleen kits on them but i havnt seen another Cobra around here that looks like mine. Thanks for the replys and the opinions.

Car looks good, especially with the lowered stance. I think you should go with the body kit. I really like the look of the saleens too. That is one of the changes I've thought about for my 99 as well. I've narrowed it down to only the saleen s281 wing, since I like the look of my snake, but could care less about that wedge of a spoiler. Do what ya like, as long as you like it, its all good.

Beautiful Cobra! I also love the look of the kit on 99+'s. I've also been toying around with the idea of getting the kit, especially after I get the wheels I'm going to be getting I'm also worried about being a "poser" but honestly it comes down to it's your car and it's your money.......do what makes you happy.

My $0.02 worth. I like the look of the Saleen body kits. I think it would nice, as long as you didn't put Saleen logos all over the car attempting to pass it off as a real one.

Dont worry about me trying to pass as a real saleen, that was my original question....I dont want to be looked at as a "poser", I drive a 99 Cobra and would never try to pass it off as anyting else, i love, and am damn proud of what I have!!!

Thanks again guys for the opinions and complements,
Chris

hi.i was just going to say that i think a cobra has it's own small distinct appearance differences.don't get me wrong, but when i see a saleen, i either expect it to be a gt with a kit or a true saleen.i just can't understand why anyone would have a true cobra and want it to look like a saleen.i like the look of the saleen too,and like everyone is saying does hold true,it comes down to whatever makes you happy.but why not enhance on the beatiful lines of your cobra.heck, have you considered the y2k cobra r kit?i personally think that's still one of the most(if not the most)beatiful cobras ever and if a saleen pulled up next to one,i wouldn't even think twice about picking the y2kr 96 black on black snake
