Who's the cheapest at insuring Cobra's?
Allstate just screwed me. They said they were sorry they lied to me but they would not lower my 350% increase. So it's tiem to start shopping.
I called Farmer's and they were $200 more than Allstate. Background: 32yr old male 25yr old female no tickets, no accidents, no claims of any kind in five years 3 cars. The Cobra is a weekend driver only. Allstate bumped my premioum from $761/six months to $2688/six months. I said Uh-uh! HELP!!!!

What happened to make Allstate feel justified in cranking your premuim up like that?

Try State Farm.
I've been with them for about 12 years. My wife had one accident that was covered with no trouble and no raised premiums. I've had 2 Cobras covered as well as a 2000 Boxster and lots of other cars with little changes in Premiums.

I have USAA, but I am military, but I pay 150 a month, full coverage.
24 Male 29 Female 99 Cobra 01 F-150 couple of tickets, nothing major and no crashes.

Allstate tried to get a rate increase approved and the government said NO!
Allstate said YES! So they took an entire book of insurance that was currently losing money and transferred it to a subsidiary that has higher rates, a county and mutual branch. This effectively got them their increase and the government is none the wiser. They said that some of the driver's would be unfairly treated but it could not be helped and suggested I leave and come back in 30 days. I confirmed this story with two other agents.

The most expensive thing I've had covered with State Farm is my last Cobra which was around $450/six months.
BTW, I'm 37 with a clean record (knock on wood). I also have 4 cars, 1 RV, 1 house, 1 life, 1 business covered. Maybe I'm getting a volume discount or something...

I use farm bureau insurance. $614 every six months.
21 yr old 1 speeding ticket 2.5 years ago Covered: 97 cobra vert (with over $5K in mods) 93 GT vert, Yamaha GP 1200 R wave runner

As an ex-Insurance agent I would check State Farm, Farm Bureau , and American Family. If you have access to American Family, they are under $1000 for my 2000 Viper, so rates on the Cobra should be great -- though they vary state to state. I do have a high collision deductible ( $1000) , which is not allowable by some banks if the car is financed. Go with higher deductibles ( like $500 comp. , etc. ) and you should be able to lower rates with any company. Sounds to me like the good hands are amputated, as you are definitely in no hands! I recently switched from AAA to Ford Motor Vehicle Insurance Program through Hartford Accident & Indemnity Company, phone 1-877-987-FORD. The two 1997 Mustangs and two daily drivers are now insured for what it cost for three cars with AAA. Specifically, the Cobra costs $786 to insure, but then I am your age plus a 22 year old! Classic car insurance covers the '65 fastback for less than $250. Maybe I could convince Haggerty that the Cobra is already a classic.

State Farm...$114 a month. I had an accident 2 years ago and a speeding ticket. $500 deductible comp and collision...$ 5000 medical if I recall correctly.

I go through Mercury, costs me $230 a month, but this is a 22 year old male with a street racing ticket, so that's cheap!!
