TIRES: from rear 285's to 315/35/17's on 99 Cobra
I am currently running 285/40/17's on the rear of my Cobra vert. I like the Fat look very much.
I was told I could fit a 315 under there--if I use a spacer (there is one bolt on the IRS it will rub on). I would really like to try this, but don't want to risk damage to the car. Has anyone done this, and if so, what size spacer did you use? Can this be done right without loosing the cars strength and integrity at the rear end? Thanks in advance for your suggestions! |

I don't know about the 99's, but my 97 cobra sports 315/35's on a set of 17x10.5 AFS cobra r's. I just slightly messaged the wheel wells and never had a problem. I also (had) the eibach pro kit. Perfect stance, and zero rubbing. I've since removed the springs because the side pipes were rubbing occasionally.
