ok, yellow in the above pic is what i see in my head as a welded brace/bracket in a U shape around the frame rail.....granted, there is a bend there.

here's what i mean...

Steve, are you saying it would be better to have a U-bracket there? The grey painted area looks like a tab welded to the bottom of the frame rail.

yeah, that tab is just welded all by it's lonesome there on the frame rail. regardless of how thick that tab might be, my concern would be the weld..
the whole idea (bad or no, dunno) is to provide some bracing for that particular tab. whether it's better or not, i don't know, that's just a spot/part i wouldn't want failing on me under extreme duress....

Your drawing looks good to me. The frame rails are thin so anything you do to get more weld is good.

It's the Steeda 5-link that somebody posted pictures of at the corral. http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...hreadid=199250

I'm seriously impressed with it and seriously considering it for the next 'naner.

My concerns on that post were coil-over application and that tab that steve is talking about.

Steve, I think that would work. I'm also wondering if a few gussetts(sp?) welded to the tab would work like this:

yeah, gussets would probably be simply. for some reason that one spot of weld just isn't awe inspiring.....

dean, that's the upper arm mounting tab, at the frame rail outside the upper arm mounting boxes. tab looks way flimsy there by it's lonesome, i was just trying to work out a way that'd either make it a bit stronger, or at least make me think it is anyway....lol
